Well, I brought this up because in TSS it mentions a friend (supposedly Widdershins) removing the pole (used down the secret passage leading to VFD headquaters) to build a submarne. Maybe it's one of those things?

What, the backgammon thing is just a random fact about VFD history? Like the pole in the vertical flame diversion and all? Probably.
