Geraldine on the cover of TPP?

Many online sources have interpereted the image of a woman found on the front cover of the TPP to be Geraldine Julienne. What do you think about this?

I doubt that anyone on the cover is anyone, although that's more a matter for this thread.

I think it's far too glamorous to be Geraldine Julienne. If Geraldine is the same reporter from THH and TCC - which, because of the patterns of speech and the fact that the Baudelaires recognise her in TPP, she probably is - then her usual costume is a grey suit and gum, although the U.A. creates some inconsistencies between that reporter and Geraldine. But it seems most probable that they are the same character. Also, that woman is clearly trying to hide her identity and look awfully covert, which Geraldine has no history of attempting to do, and the eye on the feather of her hat looks like a covert V.F.D. symbol, and Geraldine definitely has never been a member, for reasons I explained long ago (and TPP definitely places her among the "clueless" group).

Afterword: Most online sources are stupid and ignorant, and Wikipedia in particular (because anyone can edit it) is vulnerable to stupid and ignorant fans, and anything there should be taken with a pinch of salt. Some of the pages jump to the craziest and most unstable conclusions.

Edit: And I thought I read somewhere that Geraldine has blonde hair, but she's not described at all when she shows up in TPP, so I assume it was a fanfic or something entirely different.

I didn't think that was Geraldine at all. The wikipedia opened my eyes to the possibility but... no. I just really don't see Geraldine looking anything like that... Geraldine would probably have an eager/clueless expression on her face and that woman certainly doesn't.

Definately not GJ. In my mind, she has curly, poofy brown hair and a huge, clueless smile.

Although I imagined Geraldine Julienne as the hat-wearing type, that hat is not it. I thing a journalist hat would be better which is grayish-sort of thing (?). I also see GJ as the bubblegum blowing type, but TPP cover and GJ dont go together.

PS. Utopia has the best images in his/her posts! They look so great and so authentic.

In my mind, she looks like a steriotypical teen with brown hair in a ponytail. And she blows bubbles with gum.

It really doesnt make sense for her to have the 'eye' on the feather, she is (most certain) not a member of VFD. And she seems very mysterious in that picture, and by the way Handler describes her she wasnt the mysterious, hidden type. There might be a small small small possibility that it is GJ, but i find the chances of that very very very slim.

When I first saw that lady on the cover of TPP I assumed she was either Esme or Geraldine. Esme, because she wore that fur coat in THH and Geraldine simply because to me she looks like she has her back turned away from us as she writes down some nasty gossip in her notepad. Also because in THH, the chapter 11 picture is of the people attending the performance of the cranioectomy and in the centre of the picture is a lady in a fur coat. I assumed this was Geraldine being she was the most prominent character in the audience. Although these aren’t good excuses I assume that was their reasoning as it was mine.

I've just checked the Chapter 11 illustration (THH - pg. 189) and I believe that the woman in the centre is Esme (especially when you compare her fur coat to that on pg. 111). However, below her is another woman who bears similarity to the woman on the TPP cover (note the single dot on her cheek). That doesn't mean she's Geraldine, however, it is quite interesting...

Hmm. I don't have thh so I can't compare, but if they do look similar enough then Geraldine could well be on tpp cover...

Hmmm...never thought of that. I first guessed it was Esme, then after reading the book, thought her and the person below here to be the High Court Judges.

Hmm. I shall have to scrutinize the cover at some point. A glimpse of the high court judges would be most interesting.
