I thought of it as a large school-like building, with (of course) green wood. I never thought of it to be more then 2 floors. It would have a very homey feel, with nice earthy/natural colors. I hope this helps you! ^_^

does anyone know why VFD use green wood? coz i read lord of the flies the other day and noticed that someone says, when greenwood burns it makes lots of smoke. do you think this may be why they use green wood so other members will know that the safe place has gone up in smoke like in TPP

I thought of it as almost an office building with a café, laboratory, cartography room, a library, and lots of other cool stuff.

When I was young, my family and a few other close families would spend a winter weekend at a camp lodge. We'd hang out, eat, play, and stay up late. I imagine the HQ like the lodge: warm and cozy, with beautiful views of the snowy landscape.
The woman with the beard but no hair lists all the rooms, too, it that helps at all.

I think the reason why they used Greenwood is because it also might be a signal to other members to either help or stay away.

They use green wood, or Grenwood because it part of the one integer. like the hotel, lake or something like that. just a natural place. with big area to build a huge house.

I would absolutely adore to be taken by VFD...*sighs and looks hopefully at the window to see if anyone has come to take me by the ankles*
Green wood...like everyone else has said. But it would be painted all sorts of tasteful neutral colors: butter yellow, not-too-powerful browns, light baby-blue, light green. And it would be decorated in an almost-vintage style with a large crystal chandellier dominating the foyer. From there, there would be a tall, widing spiral staircase that led to the rooms above. There would be an open hallway on the second floor, where you could look down into the kitchen and the large picturesque window and watch the cooks at work. A drawing room, living room, library, and dining room would occupy the rest of the ground floor and the furniture would be Victorian. The basement would house the lab area and another library (technological). The second floor would be partly an infirmary and partly guest rooms. And the third floor would have the bedrooms.

I thought it would be green and have at least 13 floors. But Snicket has used a lot of things from other books such as names, ideas, settings and other stuff like that for his books.

quiethere,it's not allowed to post in topics over 2 months old.
But since this topic was posted in,I imagine the HQ with 5 floors,a heated swimming pool in the back,an enormous libay with research books, fantasy books, autobiographies, fiction books, mystery books, history books, nonfiction books, etc, and the walls of the libary would be dark blue. The main room would be a big living room painted light green,a gym,a big cafe painted light-coffeee bown,a kitchen painted white and a white dining room with enormous tables,a labotory with metal walls and tons of testubes and wires,a balcony, and bedrooms painted baby blue with hundreds and hundreds of beds, and the whole thing would be made of green wood.
