Ok I went to barnes and noble. com and searched the blank book and it showed the cover of the book and that it will be out march 19th 2004, also it included this messege that Lemony wrote to the readers about this book it goes.....
From the Publisher Dear Reader, For many years, I have chronicled the lives of the Baudelaire orphans in a sequence of miserable and upsetting books entitled A Series of Unfortunate Events. Rather than reading such depressing stories, you may prefer this Blank Book, in which you can write down your own miserable and upsetting research.
You may use this volume to record many dreadful things:
the names of suspicious teachers you have encountered
details of curious conversations you have overheard
dreadful information you have found in other books The Blank Book also offers the following helpful features:
grimly decorated pages
numerous unpleasant quotations from A Series of Unfortunate Events
sinister stickers to help mark your most strange and shocking entries But I must warn you that once you begin using this book, you must guard it with your life -- or with the life of another allegedly trustworthy person.
With all due respect, Lemony Snicket
... mabey it will have some clues in it what do u think?

wow... we were correct in saying it would be a notebook. I'll prob. buy a bunch of them. but not write in it. Maybe. Depends on the inside. I already have commonplace books. O well. The cover could have been plainer. i like the fire. i wonder if ther'll be pictures. Cant wait till march.

yech. I hope not. If there's one thing I don't like it's the merchandizing of a perfectly good book series.

They're already trying some marketing ploy with the one-book-per-year.
At least ASOUE isn't as bad as HP. We aren't seeing IDV snake plushies, are we? Well, we'll just wait for hte movie...

Geez it's cheap. But is that US money? The books cost $20 here! I doubt I'll buy it unless if it has hidden info in it.

Oh, I dont know. its not so bad. with the release of the movie and all of the merchendise that goes with teh series at teh time, it does mean more stuff to collect, I guess. not bad.

In Canada, tSS was $16.99! TBB was $10.99 I think. So that means the Blank Book will be about $12 Canadian, i geuss.

Yeah, 12 to 15 sounds about right. Anyway, I don't know if I'll buy it. But I may... The stickers are really what got to me. I mean... I don't want the merchandising to get out of hand, and so far I don't think it has... but STICKERS? What is this?

I went and got the binder that Barnes & Noble put out, which had the picture from TBB and at least is loose leaf so I can change the contents if I mess up a page. I'm also not wild about the cover picture and I dislike the idea of the bound pages, so I'll probably skip this one.

Swans, where did you get that picture for The Blank Book? That is very cool.I might buy that book, even though I don't even write in journals. Maybe I'll copy all of the stuff in my commonplace book into it. Who knows?

ya, i got it too. nothing special. and to the person/s that said they'd buy a couple, why would u do that? its not really worth buying one, but its ten bucks! why waste lots of money on, essentially, blank books?
