So is it agreed that the tattoo goes on the inside of the left ankle? I had been wondering that for quite some time...darn it, now all of you have made me want an eye tattoo, but that's never going to happen. And I like the concealed-ness of the ankle tattoo.
I think people (my parents) would think me a freak if I drew an eye on my hand and kept going over it. My dad is particularly against the idea of writing on one's skin (I have written/drawn stuff on my hands before and he always seemed rather annoyed...)

Hehe, I drew an eye on my ankle in purple marker.... but it came off in my pool, so I had to do it again. Turns out my mom didn't freak out, she just noticed it and laughed to her friend on the phone, then said "she drew an eye on her ankle."
And yes, SetnicK, the tattoo is on the INSIDE of the left ankle. And yes, the "concealed-ness" is cool. And yes, I know that I am a nutcase. Don't rub it in.

That'll happen. Just doodle random eyes on your ankle with marker; permanant if you want it for longer. (Permanant marker, contrary to popular beleif, does NOT remain on one's skin permanantly. It'll wash off in a few weeks or so.

I just said to my dad, "Dad, will you draw the VFD eye on my ankle with this permanent pen?" and he said, "Sure sweeetie." and did it! I have such cool parents...

I envy you...... Your parents must have read the books then if they know what it looks like. I don't really tend to use permanant marker because I can never find any permanant markers......

That's where it was in book one (even though you just see Olaf's leg in the illustration, from the anatomy it's his left leg) so that's where I had my tattoo done. It definitely changes in both design and location in later books.

I will draw a tattoo of the VFD eye (not the one on the film) on my ankle occasionally, and so far, only one person has gotten the reference. However, I have gotten many inquiries as to what the tattoo meant, to which I've always responded "The world is quiet here."
I think that when I am older, I will get a tattoo of an eye on my ankle. I'm also debating whether or not to get the words "THOUGHT CRIMINAL" tattooed to someplace I don't display to the public (such as my hip, my back)

OH13: I drew one on my ankle in permanant silver Sharpie recently. Belladonna: And so did I. OH13: That was by me, in lime green washable Crayola marker. Belladonna:

Dear Readers, If I were to get an eye tattooed on my ankle, It would most certainly be the one from the Unauthorized autobiography.

I've put a henna tattoo of the insignia on my ankle before. It lasted a long time, too. Longer than I thought it would.

Hennas are cool. And I've never done a VFD insignia, but I should one of these days.
