Nope, you're the first one to ask. I got it done at a tattoo parlor close to where I live.

So this is where I should've posted my pictures! Yes, everyone should get it because it's awesome =D I look forward to the day I meet someone else with the eye on their ankle.

Hey everyone! I got here after trying to CONFIRM that the tattoo should be in the left INSIDE side of my ankle (i feel relieved now that i checked it XD). Look at the attachment, that's my VFD tattoo . I found a design i liked from google (i think it was originally put in caps and mugs) and edited myself to get a better design. Hope you guys like it, and i really hope to find someone else with a vfd insignia out there . Here's the link of the Tattoo: img821.imageshack.us/i/dsc00619ti.jpg/

Hello, johnsofiremind. Regrettably, your attachment doesn't seem to be working - ProBoards is a bit finicky about images sometimes - but you're right, the evidence is very much in favour of it being the left inside ankle where the tattoo belongs. Congratulations on getting yours!

That's a very stylish interpretation of the insignia. It really doesn't look suspicious at all.

That's exactly what i wanted, so if anyone asks what's the tattoo about, i'd just answer "It's a simple eye", and only a very few selected VFD people around the world will look for -and will find- the letters of the organization in my eye on my left ankle . Be well everyone !

i draw the eye literally everywhere i can:P but i am really confused as to which tattoo is from the book and which is from the movie? in the books, they draw the one that looks more like an eye, like the image in madame lulus carnival sign but then i saw the simplistic one (the one on every post) and thought that was the original. which one is it?

The tattoo you see in the movie probably didn't know about the hidden letters revealed in TCC, which is why its depiction is more your traditional eye. The eye insignia that makes it easier to see the letters comes from the UA, and the one on Madame Lulu's tent is a stylized version of that, elaborated presumably to evade the attention of non-volunteers. Neither is the "original," really, but the one in the UA is more insignia-like and arguably easier to recognize.

Are there actually eye tattoos for sale or do you have to make one?

What do you mean by "for sale" - as in, temporary tattoos? None that I know of. You would have to make your own.
