Thanks for posting that contest for me. I forgot about that one.
It's kind of strange that it's just filling in the blanks, not even creating your own letter. Oh well, I'm too old to enter anyway.

I tried to enter earlier, and it wouldn't let me. I think it's because the deadline was after my seventeenth birthday, despite the fact that when I tried to enter I was still sixteen, which was extremely irritating. I might try to enter under the guise of my brother. We'll see.

Yea, I'm thinking I'll have my kids enter too. My daughter (almost 9) already enjoys filling in the paper Beatrice letter, so why not let her try this one.

Harper-Collins has sent out a reminder e-mail for the Worst Contest You've Ever Heard.

I just entered.
I was hoping that it would where I could write my own letter.

I tried to enter as my brother, but after I hit "submit," the page sort of froze and went blank, and the next page never showed up. I don't know if it registered or not. D:

That happened to me a few times, but the screen came to something that went like, "Fortunately, this contest is only opened to people between 6 and sixteen," or something like that. I re-entered as my annagramatical pen-name. Quite humorous actually.

The contest page has updated, and you can now vote. There are ten finalists, and voting ends January 31st.
Edit: Even as I speak, there's some probable vote fraud going on. It hasn't escaped people's notice that there's nothing to stop you voting multiple times.

Is anyone from 667 a finalist? Let us know so we can stuff the ballot box!

I thought they were all awful except for the one by "Talia Calpurnia Jones-Whittaker," for which I shall presently cast my vote.

Maybe we should steal the form and hold our own contest. What do you think?

That sounds like a do-able idea.

Sounds good. I just made a post-your-beatrice-letter thread; maybe after people have posted theirs (if they ever do) we could have a poll or have votes PM'ed to someone or something. I don't know what the prize would be, though. We don't have anything as fancy as Mr Handler reading the winner's submission.

I don't need a huge prize; just the adulation of all 667 members would be good enough for me!
Maybe someone artfully talented could make a banner.
