Way to ruin the thread, Damocles! Hmmm... "CAPTAIN HOOK LOOKS LIKE DAVID BOWIE!!" would be a nice random thing to yell. And if you could fit in a comment about nudists somewhere, it would definitely be a bonus.

T FRODO: the androgynous oneee I won't go see the movie, I'll download it and make fun of it in the comfort of my own home (because shouting "RUN, VIOLET, COUNT OLAF WANTS TO MOLEST YOU" in a theater wouldn't go over well). isn't it illegal to download movies? i mean...its illegal to download music and moveis are more expensive ot make and longer...

isn't it illegal to download movies? i mean...its illegal to download music and moveis are more expensive ot make and longer... Therein lies my rationalization, my good friend. I'm essentially getting a movie, free, right? Right. Except that not only does it spend time to download it since the only formats that work on my computer use the XviD codec and therefore are around 699 MB, and because time = money, I'm not getting it free after all. In addition, I probably wouldn't go see the ASOUE movie anyway, so I'm getting something that I wouldn't pay money to see anyway.

I am a bit nervous about what the quality of the movie will be like, but I'm such a die hard fan of the books that if I don't see the movie on opening day, I might go crazy! Oh, well, if the "Harry Potter" movies didn't chance my image of anything in the books, I'm sure this won't either.

Okay... well, can I just ask you where this money will go? I'll be fine with this is you tell me it goes toward the movie's production or its production company. Because, c'mon, this isn't about spending the right amount of your money just so you know you've spent it. It's about WHERE it goes and how it contributes.
It's like walking into a store, dropping $2.45 on the street in front of it where anyone from anywhere can pick it up and claim it as their own and then walking into the store and picking up some candy and going to the cashier: "I don't need to pay for this 'cause I believe I dropped a total of $2.45 somewhere today. Is that all right with you?" And what do you expect the answer will be?

Oh, come now. Let's not turn this into a discussion about the ethics of downloading music, movies, copyrighted pictures (because if you get a picture from a magazine that someone scanned, you didn't pay for it, right?), film scripts and transcripts (because you have to pay for the film or the theater it's showing in), and God knows what all else. I already finished with my one digital ethics post, let's get back on topic.

To be more polite, (I'm not the type who goes off into rampages about what she's against) I have to say I don't want to like, prevent you from watching the movie or anything and take away the enjoyment.
Pictures are a different type of issue though, dude. Plus I don't really care about that, lol.
I'll leave this out of how hypocritical I am and how we're not fighting for are priciples, we fight for ourselves.
Maybe this is why being misanthropic is the right way to go...

Let me steer this back toward its true topic. In the theater, I would.... -Yell "Olaf, you started the fire! Burn in Heck, you pyro!" -Dress as a character from a later book, such as a crow-hatted VFD town elder. Tall hats are always fun. -Weep loudly and melodramatically at vaguely appropriate moments. -Write in commonplace book, muttering darkly. -Get thrown out. Behave better at next showing I attend.

When the movie starts and "Lemony Snicket's ....." appears on the screen, yell "What?!? This isn't Gustav Sebald's Zombies in the Snow!! I came here to receive a coded message!". When you get to theater and buy your ticket, ask for a VFD member ticket, and ask if the movie will be shown earlier...

More fun things to do.... -Order parsely soda at the concession stand. -When Monty dies, say "He's fakin' it. Pour some cold water on him." - Wear two hook-hands, and skewer your ticket on one. Carry a baby doll in a birdcage, and scowl at all those who stare. -Get kicked out again. Avoid that theater.

Okay, let me cover everythign here. First off, download all you want. I do it all the time. ^_^
Secondly, i think this thread is kinda rebellious. I mean, if you dont wanna see the movie or you dont think itll be good, dont see it, dont come on here and talk aobut all the things you wanna go and do in the theater to make sure others wont enjoy it either.
That is my opinion. I rest my case. Im not saying this to sound mean, Im jsut saying. I hope you understand my point.
