I just saw the trailer. It looks AWFUL! Sunny looks nothing like I imagined and KLAUS DOSN'T HAVE GLASSES! Where are his flipping glasses? And Jim Carry is not Olaf like enough. What's with Violets dress? And she's not wearing a RIBBON! Where is her ribbon... I'm really steamed. It look terrible.

Klaus does wear glasses in some scenes, and there is a shot of Violet tying her hair in a ribbon. Might want to look a bit more closely next time, they're rather quick shots.

Violet- Violet looked pretty. They chose the perfect actor. Klaus- Klaus was strange. He had glasses in the Reptile Room scene, but that was it. Sunny- Sunny was adorable! Sure, she's not like we pictured, but she's so cute!

ya, i love it. Its gonna be a great movie!
I think Violet was dressed in that gothic stuff just for Olafs house. Maybe Poe told her to look her best.
Klaus is fine, he still has glasses.
I like Sunny, too, shell be perfect. I cant wait to see her teath.

I hate it whne people like you post, because you never bother to look a little more closely before shouting off aobut whatever.
First off, Klaus does have his glasses, but only when he is reading in the movie. this is to avoid the whole "its just like Harry Potter" thing.
Violet never actually wore her ribbon in the books except when she was thinking of an invention. So, helquist's illustrations are actually incorrect on that matter. Violet has teh ribbon in the movie, but only whe she invents.
The clothes were never explained in teh books either, so the clothes are as accurate as they wanna be.
All three of the children look great, actually! In fact, I think they look better than the illustrations. teh clothes they are wearing gives you teh great impression that they really were rich. the illustrations of the book only did taht for Klaus, otherwise telling us taht the style they are wearing is an old style. Sunny looks great, too!
Also, can you really think of anyone else who can portray Olaf as good as Jim Carrey can do it? Olaf is an ignorant, drunken brute who laughs at his own jokes and torchures kids. Sure, hes evil, but hes funny in a strange, outrageous sort of way and I think its perfect!

The trailer was better than I expected; I absolutely love the set and costume design of the film. Sunny is so cute, and I can't wait to see her bare her teeth.
Whose idea was it to cast Jim Carrey as Olaf? I've been wondering that for a while. I'm not complaining, because Jim seems all right in the trailer. Still, he's boisterous. Olaf is not supposed to be boisterous.

yes, sunny does have her teath in the movie Are you sure...? Because I don't see any teeth on her... Could be because she doesn't have her mouth open, but still...

Still, he's boisterous. Olaf is not supposed to be boisterous. bois·ter·ous ( P ) Pronunciation Key (boistr-s, -strs) adj. 1. Rough and stormy; violent. 2. Loud, noisy, and lacking in restraint or discipline. Olaf isn't boisterous? Please do me a favor and read chapter four of the Bad Beginning again or listen to Handler's characterization in the audio books.

I saw the trailer at least three times. So it wasn't a quick glance. But my computer does have is very dark, so I can't see alot of things very clearly. Maybe that's why I missed out on them. And it's just my opinion.

Thank you for saving me typing that exact rant, but slightly different. I'd like to add that thats what happens with movies... the actors may not be exactly what you've imagined, because they DO have to make some changes, not to say they won't try to stick to the canon, which is what they're doing... the books say little about clothing and facial appearances, and that's really all the trailer's giving, so there are some minor changes, inevitably, and everyone may not look perfect, but that doesn't mean it'll be terrible

Alright alright...Yeesh. Like I said, it's my opinion. I just not pleased with how it looks. I never supported making it into a movie in the first place.
