I KNOW WHAT "THE WORLD IS QUIET HERE" MEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night I was rereading TCC and on p 158 Olivia says:"The world is a confusing and harum-scarum place. They say that long ago it was quiet and peaceful but that might be a legend,or a myth." So V.F.D wants the world to be quiet like it once was and that is why they've written "The World Is Quiet Here" at their headquarters!Get it?

Well see, Olivia and other V.F.Ders are sad that the world is so confusing so they want the world to be quiet, especially at their base.Dont worry about it my first explanation was pretty harum scarum

I TOTALLY DISAGREE all the VFDers have libraries in their house, and alot of meeting places have libraries also, and it is quiet in libraries, hence the phrase "the world is quiet here" Loser wannabe

J: Anyway, both theories are likely. But VFD obviously works to fight evil, or fire, as most people think. The less evil, the less screaming, the less sirens, etc. Hence, quiet. C

I think that maybe it's a combination of both of your ideas.

Let's not argue now. Let us keep the world quiet. I think that "the world is quiet here" is a deliberately ambiguous phrase, and it has different meanings for every VFDer. However, the aforementioned meanings both seem valid.
