I went to one of his presentations/ book signings, but I never actually got my book signed b/c my ticket put me near the end of the line, and I was told I would have to wait until about 1 am to get up to the front. I would have stayed but my parents were my ride b/c I kinda suck at parking, and there was no way they were staying that late. It was rather unfortunate. Still the presentation was very fun.

My friend just told me that the uncle of the teacher of the girl she babysits for is Daniel Handler. She said that she might be able to get me an autograph. This isn't as good as meeting him in person, but it's fairly close. Huzzah!

Oh very lucky! I wish I could meet him. But not many people like Texas. I hate it myself but this is my home. My home full of people with no idea with what there talking about.

Daniel Handler lives in San Francisco. Or so I've been told.
I live in a small island community NEAR San Francisco. Or so I've been told.
So due to my close proximity it is very likely that I will run into him when doing something completely mundane. Like going to a bookstore.

Alcatraz? Do you live on Alcatraz? This article might help you locate him.

Wait...that would mean Daniel Handler's niece (nephew?) is a teacher...that would mean he has to have a sibling who is considerably (like, 20ish years) older than he. How reliable is your friend's information?

Sadly, no. I don't think he's ever come to western Canada. Unless I'm just completely oblivious and stupid.

How reliable is your friend's information? I thought that sounded fishy too. I don't remember ever hearing about Daniel Handler having any siblings. It could however be a sibling of his wife, Lisa Brown. He would be an uncle by marriage. For the sake of argument, let's say this teacher is fresh out of college, 22 years old. If he/she has young parents, say 44 or 45 years old, that would only be 8 or 9 years older than Daniel Handler. It's possible, but I always have my doubts about such extended relationships to famous people.

I'll have to ask her about it.

He came to Grand Rapids on February 13th. I had a slumber party at a friend's house then, so my friend Nee agreed to take me (She already had gotten the tickets) before we went to my friend's house to eat pizza and watch scary movies. We had both forgotten to bring our books in the excitement, but we were both called up on stage to help with his 'demonstrations'.
