Part One
June 1st, 2012
Detroit, Michigan
1624 Eastern Daylight Time (2124 GMT)
Jemima was getting the mail.
Nothing special, just getting the mail, as she did every afternoon at about this time. She thumbed past the usual bills and advertisements, and saw a small envelope at the bottom of the stack addressed to her. The thing that stuck out was that it was addressed “Jemima”, not her real name, and that it was written in fancy calligraphy. She stared at it for a second, then opened the letter and began to read.

Jemima finished reading through letter, then read through it twice more. This was it. 667 was finally having a meetup. After countless failed attempts, after nearly every 667er had reached adulthood, and after the tragic demise of 667 itself a couple years back (Ha! The irony that our admin himself was named Tragedy, Jemima thought bitterly), it was finally happening. She glanced back at to the four locations of the conference, and growled for a bit at the thought of traveling all the way to New York City (I told them Detroit! she thought to herself), but in the end, she knew she was going. The opportunity to meet so many of those who had been her friends was just too much to resist. Her only question was why not everyone had been invited. She supposed she could ask the sender. Who was the sender, anyway? Curious, she got out the envelope again and turned it around. There was no return address.
