The saddest part was when it said "THE END" that was heart breaking.

I think the saddest part was when they were fighting and people were getting killed, I was crying at the part with my friends because you see so many people dieing! Also, it's sad when you see the guy almost get burned. But otherwise besides being sad, IT'S THE BEST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!!!!!

When Sam was talking about marrying Rosie. I don't know why, but I just started to bawl. It showed how much he didn't want to die.

Amazingly, I didnt cry. I almost did though, brimming with tears. But I think the saddest part for me is when Sam thinks Frodo is dead and he says "Dont go where I cant follow." Sheesh, if thats not a tear jerker line I dont know what is. I love Sam. Sean Astin did such a great job as him. Every emotion is perfect. Anyways, Pippin calling out to Merry when he's leaving.

Well, there were many tear jerkers for me....The WORST one was when Bilbo is all old...and the boat leaves for heaven. You guys know it was going to heaven right? It's such a metaphor....

I don't really think it was sad. It was good though. I like your avatar, Fife.

When Arwen saw her son and Aragorn. That was really touching seeing the future that was almost destroyed. Ahh woohoo for A/A shiperness.

another was, wait it wasn't really sad, but when Aragorn said to the hobbits after they bowed to him, "Never bow to anyone or anything again, we shall bow to you" or something like that. Very good. Also, where sam said to Frodo, "I will carry you." that was also very moving. Oscar for Astin.

i felt they made too much out of that part. cause when you read it in the books, it didn' seem like a big deal. sam was just getting him up the mountain. but in the movie, sean was speaking louder, the music was getting louder...... yeah. but sean definatly deserves an oscar. everything he did in that movie was very honest and well done.

Nearly Everyone needs an oscar for that movie. Esp. Sean, though.

Lotsa crying moments, I was crying the entire second half of the movie, but I'm surprised no one's mentioned the one, REALLY sad part (at least to me). I actually wailed in the theather when Pippin was singing the "All will fade" song thingy for Denethor. Question though . . . why are there at least 3 threads on the topic of crying? Doesn't that seem a bit, uh, superfluous? I dunno. The pyre of Denethor and the Grey Havens were the two parts of the book that had me crying the most, but they didn't affect me as much in the movie.
