Yep, I love the Olympics (any sports the rest of the year, not so much). The opening ceremony was pretty ridiculous but I loved it. I watch any sports that Canada's in pretty much, plus gymnastics, track, and diving I watch no matter what. Though I really don't get race walking. I always forget it's an Olympic sport.

I'm a fan of Olympic opening ceremonies, and I say the opening ceremony was amazing. I didn't watch the countryside part, but overall spectacular. The ceremony definitely shows Britain at its best: its history, culture (high and pop), and its ability to laugh at itself (From what I know, the Brits LOVE the eccentric). Everything British was there. If some of you don't understand it, then it's fine. I don't understand the British as a people, and I think that's what makes them British.
My favorite parts were the countryside scene (even though I didn't watch it fully) and the industrial scene.
Overall consensus: Epic. Better than Beijing's I dare say!

I missed the ceremony on TV, but watched the Mr Bean sequence online and yes, I agree that it was great. So did many others, judging from the numerous comments on youtube to the effect of "omg london ws soooo boring teh ony good part was mr bean!!!!!!11!!". If possible, I'll buy the DVD when it comes out.

Thats okay. I also want to see ping pong. But I've been trying to watch the Olympics and most of the stuff is so boring and I always wonder why certain stuff made it but cheer leading isn't considered an Olympic sport. I'm in it for the gymnastics. And I love figure skating but thats winter. However, when I was watching the trials or whatever last night I kept hoping the event was more like Stick It.

I command that everyone watch Stick It because it is one of the best movies in the world.

I'm indifferent for the most part to the Olympics, but there are two events I'll be watching out for: Women's boxing and dressage. Mainly because Mary Spencer is representing Canada in the boxing, and Adrienne Lyle and her horse, Wizard, are representing the US in dressage. Not to mention, dressage is an amazing sport, and they boast the most awesome outfits in the Olympic games.

You like the spelling bee, how are the olypmics boring. The spelling bee is beautiful and emotionally fraught. The olympics is a bunch of people swimming back and forth in a pool. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YC0Ruv0AxwCheck Mate.

I heard Doctor Who's TARDIS in Bohemian Rhapsody and got excited but nothing else happened.
Other than that I'm not really keeping track.
