I imagine that there'd be some leeway within the Snicketmail form, too. Not all of the Snicketmails are the same - some are sketch versions, others are full illustrations, then there's the cover as well. Unsurprisingly, I think Antenora's serve as a good guideline, but people can vary a little according to their inspiration. I imagine that nearly everyone would come up with something of a slightly different shape or size, and then to seal the Snicketmail impression then the final editor could paste each of them onto a consistently-shaped block of whitespace, perhaps at jaunty angles or orientations, to create that sort of scrapbook impression. As for how the final selection of questions is being made, they're being chosen in part by me and Sherry Ann in collaboration. While there are many questions and we'll have to cut a great number to get down to forty-three, I think it should be possible to include at least one by each person who's posted. I think there'd be a better batch of questions if more people were involved in the selection process to eliminate bias.

if by better, you mean there'd be a chance one of yours got in if you helped choose?

This is Dante's program. He puts a lot of work and thought into DH's birthday, year after year. He and Sherry Ann keep 667 relevant, and they've earned the right to represent 667 by picking questions. I'm sure that if Dante and Sherry Ann thought a bigger group of selectors would improve the final product, they would have invited more people to help pick. It's nice of you to make a kind suggestion though I'm pleasantly surprised that you care about the quality of questions that are picked!

No, there'd be a chance of more than one of mine getting in then. But it doesn't have to be me that helps.
And what I was trying to say tactfully was that this is supposed to include humor and the current selection committee has no sense of it. But Sherry Ann tries hard and that is admirable.
Also, I'm not disagreeing with what you said Mulan but that doesnt change the fact that they can be bias.

Im just saying that I recall the time everyone wrote stories for DH's bday and Dante had everyone write short ones since he didn't want DH to be overwhelmed because Dante was sending in his massive one. I think we'll get the best selection if we use other opinions besides just Dante and Sherry Anns.

I think that Dante and Sherry Ann both have a sense of humor, it's just probably not aligned with yours. Diff'rent strokes! Any two-person committee is in danger of producing biased results. And what I'm trying to say tactfully is that these two individuals have earned the right to impose bias on these results, because it is their show.

When we did that question thing the first time all the moderators helped picked and I thought we got the best selection that way. Saying for a minute that I believe Dante has a sense of humor, we should still allow for other tastes than his and Sherry Ann's. 43 questions is a lot and it will be really boring if it's all one note. If its their show they should want to make it the best they can and having others help select would improve the finished product.

You're like a random passerby who stopped watching football years ago walking into the Jayhawks' locker room and telling their highly experienced coach that he should call in some more pedestrians to help him put together his offensive strategy I get your point about the benefits of a larger selection group. If the two people in charge of this think it would be helpful, I'm sure they'll take you up on it. I'm equally confident that they can put together something great as a two-person committee because they are intelligent, responsible Snicket-experts who have done excellent work on this type of thing in the past. Thanks again for your concern!

Well the Jayhawks went 1-11 in football. She probably would be an improvement.

Rock chalk I hate football but I think college basketball is interesting when it's KU.
And yeah, whatevs, but again maybe they're too close to this thing to see it objectively. Passerbys can be helpful, what if they were in a car and it was on fire? I would totally call for help and try to save Sherry Ann and be a hero.

Okay, Im not saying I would let Dante die, I'm just saying that I would make attempts to save Sherry Ann first, shes younger. And adorable.
Anyway, please note that in Mulans post he is not talking about the KU Jayhawks we all know and love. He is talking about an imaginary team that is apparently good right now and was also good in the 70's and 80's. This fantasy team should reflect his skewed judgement at the moment.
