Is it intentional that you begin with 'It Follows', making it literally the only movie that doesn't?

ok i finished it and while i still need time to compose my thoughts properly I wrote some notes that i would like to share - suspenseful music - cool 80s vibe like bear mentioned in the penthouse - potato in Kevin from Fred the movie - damn this is scary - potato im considering turning this off goddam - I'm seeing in this some of what I imagined paper towns would look like - the kid that popped his head in the hole in the door looks like bandit - the main actress in this is likediscount Brie Larson - this guy on the roof has the biggest bush like you'd need a whipper snipper fuuuuucj - The first shot of inside the pool is cool

I think 'It Follows' has great potential with a cool concept, but then a writer/director who's too much of a wuss to take this concept anywhere interesting, and instead leaves us with a way undercooked obvious metaphor to underpin a really clichéd horror plot. I have to say that I did dig the 80s Carpenter-inspired film score, though. It's a noble attempt of a horror film, but ultimately unsuccessful in rising above standard horror fare. The acting was also pretty bad; discount Brie Larson is accurate.
