It has an odd retro Modernist feeling á la Bauhaus or even a touch of art deco. When I first saw it I actually thought it was a doodle for someone from the early 20th century. That is the reason I liked the new logo. But it feels kinda weird to look at.

It does feel weird to look at, I really don't like it. It just doesn't have the same professional, clean cut appearance the old one had; I don't think it represents the ethos of the company at all. The new favicon is also the worst.

I was mostly speaking from a designer's perspective. As to whether it affects me/matters to me personally... of course it doesn't.
