this makes me thinks of the friends episode where they debate wether there is such a thing as a truely selfless good act.. and they came to the conclusion that there isn't.
But also I have done that to, a long time ago, when I was very depressed, and it did make me feel happy. And i guess it ties in to what I said (or meant) before, which is happiness, but i don't mean so much for my self, but to make other people happy. And thats the only way I can be happy myself.

What if you were forced to do good? What if you didn't care, but gave away anyway? Selflessness ≠ happiness

if i was forced to do good, then it wouldn't be good.

i guess that's actually true, your actions wouldn't be considered good from an ethical standpoint because the good intention wouldn't be there, and, being forced, you wouldn't even be responsible for them anyway, not really
of course there would still be positive impacts regardless, though
the whole happiness/good correlation idea is a mess tho, seems like you're generalizing from your own personal experiences

I'd like to be able to live off having random ideas, like writing books once in a while, designing games or being hired to do talks. Pretty much being a freelance whatever-I-feel-like-doing. Also, I want a good library to fill with my books and at least two children. The children will also be filled with books, but probably only in a figurative sense.

I want to have a family and a job which gives me enough money to give them everything they need and still enough free time to spend some time with them.

Which reminds me - I want to relearn Cantonese and Mandarin since those were my first two languages (I can't remember which one I learnt first, to be honest). I still don't know how to read or write in either of them, apart from the digits 1, 2, and 3.
