You're welcome is "De rien." Uh...are you SURE it means that? Cos I'm pretty certain that rien has something to do with nothing. Unless it means "It is nothing".

It's just like saying "It is nothing." In English you say that too. "Thank you." "Oh, it's nothing."

Off-topic, but it's like that in Spanish as well. De nada is said to mean "You're welcome," literally "of nothing" or, more sensibly translated, "it's nothing."

Yes, French and Spanish are very similar. But most European languages are, given their roots.

Yes. Although, I have heard of this one language that is not structured like any other European language. I can't remember the name of the language off the top of my head, but the region that speaks it is between France and Spain.
