What do you do to celebrate or honor the release of a new Snicket book? This is what I do:
When information about the book becomes available, I collect items related to the book and put together a little shrine in my room. Last summer, I made a photo snowglobe with a little Slippery Slope cover pic inside. This year, I have one of those nifty plastic submarines that you fill with baking soda so that it surfaces and dives in water; a Japanese cookie box with mushrooms printed on it(the cookies looked like mushrooms); and a little figurine of a mechanical monster. Anyone else do something like that?

I don't do anything that extravagent, but you might call this something to celebrate or honor the release of a new book.
I contemplate what might happen in that book, and when it comes out, I read it, and compare with what my thoughts were before I read the book. Then I repeat the process over again for the next book.
But, other than that, I am not that obsessed... JasonKondrick

I've actually never done something like that before. Usually, just right after I get the book from my mom most of the time, I just....grab it, and read it. Then I talk about that book forever and ever 'till the next one comes out. It's my tradition. ;D

That is pretty cool, though.

i go get the book as soon as it comes out. I then read it real fast, like in a day, then I will start over and read like a chapter a day to let it all soak in and to get clues and stuff.

The day it comes out that's all I talk about. Then after I get it I read it and read it again and again until I've read it as many times as I have the other ones. Then I talk about it more. Then I reread the whole series again and again, until next one comes out. Then the cycle starts again.

That's what I do. Last year I began reading my way through the series in early summer, and by the release date of The Slippery Slope I was at the end of book nine. I was reading a chapter or two every day; I really should start doing that now.

The day it comes out, I'll beg my mother to take me to the bookstore. When I get there, I grab the book. In the car I start to read it. Usually the store gives out merchandise...
