Im sure you all know, that when the Baudelaires begin their periless climb up the stairs at 667 Dark Ave. that they pass a series of doors leading to other apartments, and while passing by, they hear various sounds, and people talking from inside. Well, one of the phrases they hear is someone saying "Let them eat cake" which struck me as odd, because that is one of the famous quotes from early france, supposedly, Marie-anne Twinette (cant spell the name) used this quote, shortly before her and her family were killed by the guillotine(also cant spell). Any thoughts on this?

You are talking about Marie Antoinette, the Austrian bride of Louis VI who was the King of France. I suppose Lemony just put the quote in there for some of the history freaks, not everything has to be meaningful. ;D

Marie-Antoinette didn't really say it. It was her grandmother in law.
However, popular legend made it the wrong Queen of France. Such is life.
I wonder if Lemony even knew that...

I read a book on Marie Antionette....it was awesome. Am I a history freak, then?* *I luff history.

I bet that Lemony knew that she didn't say it. He's very cunning. I wouldn't be surprised if it really did mean something. I haven't really found much that doesn't mean anything. It's like a book full of clues. So I totally agree with you.
