obviously the start of VFD because it is a mystery that has kept us and the orphans baffled for the past 6 books. it has ben analyzed over and over again and all of the books have been read thousands of times but no one has figured out everything about it (except perhaps mr. snicket). TAA is my favorite book and i think that the beggining of the VFD mystery is a definite high point.
