Do you think there are other secret VFD passageways other then from THe Baudelauire mansion to 667 dark avenue and The Quagmires mansion to Uncle Monty's house.

Olaf's house probably has one. Also, here's an interesting thought - maybe there's a tunnel in Curdled Cave leading to...possibly the Snicket mansion if it was near Lake Lachrymose? If Josephine was a VFD member (which she probably was, considering she would be scared of fire) she could have waited in the cave for someone to rescue her, and if nobody did she could have simply taken the passage into the Snicket mansion, although it was probably burned down at the time.

The Vertical Flame Diversion in TSS seems to have been such an emergency tunnel.

Icey, I was just about to say something about that cave! Do we have any idea where the Snicket mansion is, though? I mean, it could lead to anywhere, I was leaning more toward Josephine's house, but then again, it would be awkward to build a passageway into her house... There must be a passageway somewhere in the Vile Village... or... I dunno. Otherwise, how did Olaf smuggle the triplets into the fountain without being seen?

Well, Olaf built the fountain, he could have just put a big hole in the ground underneath it.

Yeah, but then the Quagmires would be able to climb through the hole. GUH!!!

It saays that Olafs henchpeople built the fountain, put the Quagmires inside, then installed it in the town.

Oh yeah. Did anyone halfway through the book guess they were in the fountain. A friend told me about hald way, but I didn't guess the fountain before and I thought it was rather clever..

The crow bannisters are mentioned in the letter that Lemony cannot be sure came from the real Duchess of Winnipeg (LSTUA, page 27). Since the crow bannisters were not mentioned by Lemony as a reason for doubting the authenticity of the note, can we assume that the Duchess of Winnipeg (thanks Queen Swan, this wasn't supposed to be Windsor) had bannisters with crows on them?
If the carrier crows mentioned by the woman with hair, but no beard (TSS page 295) are the crows from TVV, there must have been a Volunteer watching them. I have doubted Hector's being in VFD (aside from living in the Village of Fowl Devotees), even though Jacques referred to him as just H in a letter (LSTUA page 98), but he seems the likeliest. I mean, who else can you name in the village? I come up with Mrs. Morrow, Mr. Lesko, and the Verhoogens.

Swans, metinks it was a typo, or a memory error. And who said that there is a secret passageway in every book? There isn't. Josephine wasn't in V.F.D, but her husband was. Jerome Squalor wasn't in V.F.D, but he was a family friend of the Snickets/Baudelaires. Now Hector... he is a tricky one... though he is mentioned by J, and it would be good for him to be in V.F.D, he might not be in it.

I think Jerome was in VFD. Why else would he hike up MOUNT FRAUGHT with Mrs. Baud and some "friends," or possibly other members?
