Pandora....I LOVE your avatar! I started having heart palpatations when I saw sweet Wesley's name in here. Princess Bride is on my 10 ten favorite movie list and Cary Elwess used to take up alot of my daydreams. As far as Cary being a bad guy, haven't you ever seen Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book? That's the one with Jason Scott Lee as Mowgli all grown up. Cary plays the bad guy there, but he does it so wonderfully. He also plays the bad guy in a movie based on a James Patterson novel. Kiss the Girls, I think. He's a freak in that movie... I wouldn't mind being tied up by him, though.

EDIT: I feel stupid. I spelled butcher mageeer. *laughs*

Woohoo a Wesley fan!
Have you seen the preview as him being the bad guy? He can probably play him brilliantly I just don't think the part suits him. But I dunno, I'm gonna see if I can rent Jungle Book.

It is one of my favorite Cinderella versions.........my top three are: Ella Enchanted Baba Yaga and Vasilisa the Brave The Persian Cinderella. Sigh. *remininces* Vasilisa is supposed to be Cinderella? But the only man in the story is her father, and there's a magic doll and playing tricks on a witch. The story is completely different. Anyway, maybe Cary Ewles doesn't want to get type-cast as a hero. This re-write business is disturbing though. Maybe the bad guy he's playing is one of the giants. Maybe I can enjoy the movie if I pretend that it's an independant story and has nothing to do with the book.

Well I think the villian Cary is playing is going to be like the guy in Moulin Rogue. He's supposed to be old and creepy and I just don't want that for him. But I could be wrong and I just like being over dramatic anyway. He didn't look like a giant in the clip, I'll try to find it.
My favorite Cinderella story is Glass in The Rose and the Beast by Francesca Lia Block.

Oh, in that case maybe he's whats-his-face, the hound-faced Earl that's Hattie's friend's uncle. Or they could have just stuck in a greedy lecherous old Count because they wanted to emulate Ever After.
