bois·ter·ous ( P ) Pronunciation Key (boistr-s, -strs) adj. 1. Rough and stormy; violent. 2. Loud, noisy, and lacking in restraint or discipline. Olaf isn't boisterous? Please do me a favor and read chapter four of the Bad Beginning again or listen to Handler's characterization in the audio books. I apologise for my misunderstanding. I took the word to mean something more along the lines of annoyingly loud and perky, like Jim Carrey in his other films. Think Grinch.

The Grinch was supposed to be Count Olafish, maybe less homicidal.

They took the beautiful world of Dr. Seuss, (including the recent Cat in the Hat) and stuck in a blender of Hollywood tripe. It was pitiful. Dr.Seuss is rolling in his grave.

The Grinch was awesome. I admit the Cat in ther hat switched plots but it was still hilarious. Klaus can't wear glasses that much, as we know, because then critics would say it is too much like Harry fricken potter. Violet is dressed like that because -she looks good -she will most likely change them once the movie progresses -the pictures show Violet wearing those kinds of clothes. Sunny looks great. I don't know if you've tried, but it is sorta difficult to find twins or triplets that match the description entirely. Sure you say this is "your opinion" but quite frankly, nobody wants to hear your opinions, so please shut up and die. Have a nice day

Okay, Ill clear up the Sunny's teeth thing:
Sunny's teeth are there, but they arent as sharp as any of us had imagined them. I was told so by my insider. So, while she has them and uses them, they arent that sharp.

I hate it whne people like you post, because you never bother to look a little more closely before shouting off aobut whatever. First off, Klaus does have his glasses, but only when he is reading in the movie. this is to avoid the whole "its just like Harry Potter" thing. Violet never actually wore her ribbon in the books except when she was thinking of an invention. So, helquist's illustrations are actually incorrect on that matter. Violet has teh ribbon in the movie, but only whe she invents. The clothes were never explained in teh books either, so the clothes are as accurate as they wanna be. All three of the children look great, actually! In fact, I think they look better than the illustrations. teh clothes they are wearing gives you teh great impression that they really were rich. the illustrations of the book only did taht for Klaus, otherwise telling us taht the style they are wearing is an old style. Sunny looks great, too! Also, can you really think of anyone else who can portray Olaf as good as Jim Carrey can do it? Olaf is an ignorant, drunken brute who laughs at his own jokes and torchures kids. Sure, hes evil, but hes funny in a strange, outrageous sort of way and I think its perfect! Thank you for clearing that up, urgh i hate it when ppl say things, get rejected by it then say "It's my opinion" WEll if it's your opinion then keep it to yourself we don't care how much you hate the movie, the grinch was good and the Cat in the hat was awsome, of cource it didn't stick to the real plot but i mean c'mon it would be a short movie then. But in other words, shut up, we don't care if your not pleased with it.

Isn't opinion-stating what we're supposed to do here, and in fact everywhere? Freckles did indeed state her opinion, and I'm stating mine. I did not like the Grinch, and I thought The Cat in The Hat looked horrible. Also, Freckles, OlafsAssociate never said he was displeased with the movie; he was optimistic about it in the post you quoted. Who were you telling to shut up?

Okay, so I was wrong. But that still leaves Frécklés as the troublemaker ( ).

I think he acted more like a screeching monkey, but it could be a seagull. ^_^
I actually hated The Grinch and found Cat in the Hat quite fun and pleasing, to tell you the truth.
Yes, its all about stating opinions. And if one states an opinion on a message board, they must be prepared for teh retaliation that they will recieve.
PS: I am pretty sure Freckles was talking to the otehr person, not me.

In reality, stating a supposedly positive opinion is jut the same as posting a negative one. So, while Its okay that you dont like teh look of the film, I dont agree. My opinion, chisled (sp?) in stone!

I love the look of the film, but I'm not sure if Jim Carrey will behave himself. He's being quite over-the-top, which Olaf should be, but perhaps a little too far over the proverbial top. And he does sound a bit like a seagull now that I think of it, but he's jumping like a monkey.
