Again, I agree with Tocuna. This movie is going to have more title problems than a transvestite judge. I know you were kidding. Off with Pop's head, I say!!!

They can't add "The Situation Worsens" to the title, or else they would have called the first one, "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Trouble Begins".

No they wouldnt. You see, the first film is really the introduction in terms. It doesnt need a subtitle whatchamabob. But teh second one has to have something indicating it is a sequel, whether it be a number or some catchy words (like THE SITUATION WORSENS). Its all in the option of the higher ups, which means they can do what they want.
This isnt in my hands at all, of course, so why are you crying to me? Its not my movie and its not the title of anything I legally own besides the books and the board game. What they do with the title is their decision, not mine, and their dilemma, not mine.
