"Maybe I don't," Raven said defiantly.

"What, can you read minds?" Raven said sarcastically as she folded her arms.

"I know your type," Raven mocked. "Well, what is my type?"

May I join? Characters:
Mandrake and Marigold were found eleven years ago, as infants, under the front desk of Hotel Denouement. The concierge that found them assumed that they had been kicked under in the hustle and bustle. Mandrake was named and adopted by Ernest, Marigold was named and adopted by Frank, as sort of a Ha-ha-I-can-raise-a-child-better-than-you thing.
Mandrake was a botanist. She studied poisonous plants, where they grew, what affects they had on the victim, etc. She's poisoned countless people, including Kit, Dewey, Frank, and even her own sister.
Marigold was a botanist as well. She studied the medicinal properties of plants. She's pretty impressive, considering how many people she's saved from Mandrake.
The only physical way to tell them apart is the tattoos of unknown origin between their shoulder blades. Mandrake is tattooed with the number eleven, Marigold thirty-seven.
I'm pretty sure they might be Mary Sues. If they are, don't let me join.

"Look, I don't have all day. Either you come in an hour, or you don't."

"Face it, Marigold. They're dead. There's no hope for us, well, you." "Now why would you say that?" "Because I've got a bag of finely ground roots from various poionous plants that I could slip into your next meal on a whim. You'd never know what hit you." "I could diagnose myself and find the antidote in seconds." "We'll just see." "Is it just me, or are you still jumpy?" A low growl escaped Mandrake's throat. "I'm not jumpy. I'm never jumpy." "We'll just see."

The teller called the next group of people to come up.

"Hello." Marigold said. "We're actually meeting someone here. Well, two people, actually." "But only one of them is worth meeting." Mandrake piped up. 'Shut up." Marigold whispered back. "Have you seen them? Two men, awfully tall, possibly burnt, they hagve a bad habit of bounding up to people?"

"This is a bank, not a meeting house."

Mandrake hissed back. "I told you it wasn't Ophelia Bank! You forget everything!" "We'll be leaving now." With that they ran out the door.

"Next!" The teller slowly went through the long line of people, which was slowly boring her out of her mind.
