"Neophyte... means... beginner..." he gasped for breath as he backed away. "He... is a fraud!"

"Klaus, just because he misused a word doesn't mean he's evil or a fraud." But Cox was gritting her teeth and her left eye was twitching as she said this.

Klaus couldn't take it anymore. He had to leave.... he had to hide.... but where?

Cox muttered something under her breath about how she hated people who misused words. Being the daughter of a journalist, she was often left with newspaper workers as babysitters, and some of them would ramble about how much they loathed word misuse. Maybe this person was a fraud, maybe even this "Count Olaf".

Violet grinned slyly, amazed that her sudden brainwave had worked. Olaf wasn't very well read, she thought, so it conluded that if she hadn't recognised him immediately, she'd have recognised him now.

"Nonsense" exclaimed Olaf, "A neophyte is a big word and people who use big words must be smart. Clearly this boy is suffering from stupid orphan syndrome." remarked Olaf stupidly. "Say 'Ah' for me boy" he said as he stuffed a spatula down Klaus's throat who made a spluttering sound as he choked on it. "See, just as I suspected. Stupid Orphan Syndrome is an immensely painful and fatal disorder. The affected will at first suffer mild symptoms such as disorientation, temperature uncertainty, dumbness and temperature uncertainty which will eventually lead to the explosion of the brain.”

"I diagnosed him myself. He has pnuemonia." Cox said, now trying to help the Baudelaires. "It will only be fatal if he isn't brought to a hospital and given the proper injections."

"I can see the headline now- Murdering Orphan Gets Pneumonia. Wait until the readers of The Daily Punctilio see that!"

"In case you didn't know" sneered Olaf "Stupid Orphan Syndrom is the scientific name for pneumonia. However you are right about one thing, this boy needs serious medical attention fast." with that he grabbed Klaus's hand and dragged him out of the room.

"No, bacterial bronchopneumonias is the scientific name for pneumonia!" Cox ran after Olaf and Klaus (after grabbing a lab mask to protect her from any pneumonial germs), in a desperate attempt to save her adoptive brother, hoping Violet would follow her.

Klaus struggled to get out of Count Olaf's grasp as Count Olaf walked faster. The disease had made him weak, however, and fighting was exhausting. "Won't anybody help me?" he thought.

Cox ran faster, but tripped on the rug and went tumbling down the stairs.

Olaf swung open the door leading to a dark room and hurled Klaus inside. He turned around to face the children approaching him and said "No Guests allowed". With that said he slammed shut the door and with a click the children were locked out.

Geraldine pattered after him and entered the door, she being allowed inside.

Klaus shivered in the corner. He was too weak to run away, too weak to fight, but still strong enough to stand up to Count Olaf.
