To resolve the karma issue, we will have a forum debate.
Sign-up here to be considered for one of three groups:
Group 1 (Anti-karma): For those who support Option 1 of the poll -
1.) We get rid of the karma system, and forget about the wrongdoer(s). 667 moves on as though karma had never existed. The bad guys remain anonymous.
Group 2 (Pro-karma): For those who support Option 2 of the poll -
2.) We keep the karma system, and the moderators convene to create an appropriate punishment for the culprit(s). I reveal the identity/identities of the evil one/ones and make him/her/them apologize publicly. We all learn a lesson and karma continues to be a part of the forum.
*For both Groups 1 and 2, almost anyone who wants to can participate without a huge time commitment. However, five speakers will be chosen from each group, to make posts at specific times that you have worked on together.
Group 3: If you would like to be the sole moderator/host of the debate, you may submit your name for this group. Just remember that only one will be selected.
To apply for a group, simply make a post stating your log-in username and your group. Don't say anything else, please.
Debate Format
A. Wednesday - Host's Welcome
B. Thursday - Opening Statements of Intent (Group 1 and 2, first speakers)
C. Friday - Arguments (Offensive, Group 1 and 2, second speakers)
D. Saturday - Rebuttals ( Defensive, Group 1 and 2, third speakers)
E. Saturday Night - Cross-examination (Fourth speaker of each team chooses any one member of the opposing team to question.) This is the only truly interactive part of the debate. It also means that all group members should be prepared to support the group's views effectively.
F. Sunday - Closing Statements (Group 1and 2, fifth speakers)
G. Sunday - Host's Last Words
H. Sunday - Final Decision
Post any questions here, but try to hold off as many as possible until after everyone has been assigned to a group.
