Ok, I started to read this book back like a year ago, and I guess I wasn't interested then. Now, I just started to reread it, and I love it!

I read the Lovley Bones last year, yes I loved it, it was awesome! The book is so powerful it could be so cute and sweet in one part then be totally dark the next. I also like the way Alice Selbold writes, it's the exact way I want to be able to write.

I checked it out from my school library over Christmas. It wasn't what I expected. I guess I thought it would be more gloom and doom, but it was REALLY great. I even recommended it to my librarian .

Try reading Lucky, same author. It will make you squirm.

Ah Elizabeth, you tell me about Lucky after I get back from the mall. I must add it to my list now, maybe I can get it tomorrow. And can I call you Liz or something? It's easier to type.

I wasn't going to say anything about you Luckylemony. Was I supposed to? I don't see what's wrong with your reading The Lovely Bones, get in touch with your feminine side. Or now that I read our posts again, did you think we were talking about you? We're not, it's a book. Sorry to disappoint.
I went to the library but they didn't have Lucky. I may buy it. It said it was about Alice Sebold's actual experiences or something, is that right Liz? Is it written autobiography style? I'm not sure if it interests me so much anymore, I'm more of a fiction girl. is it worth the money?

Pandora, Lucky is indeed based on Sebold's personal experience with rape. It's an autobiography, yes, but very well written. I don't tend to like anything written in the first person, fiction or not, but this book is good. The ending really isn't much, it left me wanting a resolution, maybe a "and then I became a sucess story" but because it doesn't, it makes it that much better... if I'm making sense. It's not a "I rose above and conquered, I am woman hear me roar" it's more "I'm still here, damned if you're gonna make me drop outta the race".
