Yeah, man! I loved her books when I was a kid! I think it's just pronounced "Layngal", but yeah, your spelling is right. I learned my first science from those books... You know how she randomly starts talking about dimensions and reciting the periodic table and stuff? Yeah. They were really high-level books for kids (but that's a GOOD THING)... I remember they didn't want to publish them because they were "too difficult for kids". She just said they were too difficult for grownups, because they didn't want to take chances on openning their kids' minds... She used a shutting yourself in a room kind of metaphor. Anyway, they were great. She had such a great style and they were full of details and references (scientific and literary). She'd be such a cool person to meet. One day I'm going to take that woman out for coffee.

I've read some of her books, the ones that start with "A Wrinkle In Time." I read the first three in that series, but I haven't read the fourth yet. I also read "A Ring of Endless Light," but I didn't like that one as much, I like more the ones that are sci-fi-ish.

I read a Wrinkle in Time, the one after that, and the one with the twins. I couldn't get any further after that. She changed the characters after a while in that series didn't she? I didn't like that.
I loved a Wrinkle in Time.. was that the one with the kything? Where you trade thoughts to other people? Me and my friend practiced doing that forever, I'm not sure if we ever made progress.

OH gosh! I was hoping somebody might make a thread on her books. She is great. I love her!! I have read the whole Time series, but I must say I absolutely hated it when they grew up. My favorite one was the one with the twins who went back in time. But A wrinkle in time was great. And the second one, forget was it is called right now. The only bad thing is, that those books sometimes confuse me terribly. And I feel oh- so- stupid. But yeah. Great books they are. And her writing style is just so unique. I seems all the books she writes are somehow intertwined like families and stuff, like in "An acceptable time" I started that one and never finished. Alas, I lost it. It was a library book too. Ha. The only one that doesn't seem connected is a ring of endless light. I have seen that movie and well, have no desire to read the book. Hate romancy type things. Plus I already know the ending since I saw the movie.

Let's see... there was A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Doors, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, and then the one with the twins. I haven't read the one with the twins yet. A Swiftly Tilting Planet was my favorite, though, I think you should read it if you haven't yet.

Man... I really need to reread those books. The only one I remember in actual detail is A Wrinkle in Time. Bluh. But yeah, it kind of annoyed me when they grew up... they were such wonderful characters as kids and it annoyed me that they'd changed... well.. life does that to you.

*stomps feet angrily*
I hate that they grew up! I am never reading the grown-up book again! How could they just skip from being like thirteen to thirty? Where are the in-between books?!
