Winner Lives Twice
Chapter 1
The bus dropped Scott outside a dilapidated building with a peeling sign saying:The Hotel Of No Return. The bus drove off and he picked up his cases and walked towards the hotel. He knocked and the door creaked on its hinges, then opened. Standing there was a bearded man with a mug in one hand and a cloth in the other. Apparently he was the bartender. Some people were laughing behind him at the bar, and one fell off his stool. The rest laughed louder. Scott introduced himself quickly and the bartender introduced himself as Harry and offered him a room for a couple of nights with no charge. When Scott asked why, he replied that a guest shouldn't be charged for what may be his death. Nodding, he walked up to his room and started to unpack. Scott laid his things across the room neatly. He looked inside a draw and found two books where Bibles are normally put in hotels . One of them was: Goblins, Pixies and Fairytale creatures: How to spot them in code. The other one was:How to decode the book next to this one. The text in the first book was garbled so he picked up the second one and began to read. Eventually he figured out the code. Every second letter was a random letter. Using this code, he started to write down the first book into a notebook. When he had written 3 pages, a loud voice pierced the silence.
" Dinner is ready! All children aged 15 or under are eating in the cafeteria downstairs away from the adults!" He picked up the first book and his notebook and carried them downstairs, hoping to get a chance to work on it. About 10 people were in the cafeteria when he got there. Three boys sitting around a table beckoned him over. Scott walked towards the table and sat down.
"Hi, I'm Jack. This is Jim and Arthur, but we call him Art," He pointed to his friends. " We aren't friends with many people here." he said.
"I don't blame you." Scott muttered to himself. He saw everybody pull out the same book he had been working on and a notebook. "I guess everybody got those." he said. "Yeah, since no one in the history of this hotel has left it alive, they don't think that this stuff isn't getting out anytime soon." Jack said. Everybody started eating at that point.
A girl entered the room. She had brown hair and a coat with a fluffy edge, braces lining her teeth and a bag on her shoulders. She walked up to our table and asked,
"Hi,is this seat taken?" indicating Art's seat, with him in it. It was the seat next to Scott."Of course not," he said, pushing him off. He gave a small yelp, and took the spare seat next to Jim, looking at me angrily throughout the meal. "My name's Ann." Ann said. Scott opened up his notebook, which he had been working on for the whole time and looked through. Scott had been so occupied on writing the stuff down, that he hadn't bothered to look at what he had written down. Fairy:a hard creature to beat if you take it on in battle, a Fairy can turn back time and kill all opponents before they realise what's happening, they can be beaten, but only if you understand time travel.Goblin:the Goblin race are sneaky and are capable of killing many of its own race to gain power, so watch out for that in battle if you are faced with a Goblin squad, likely you and one Goblin will be the only ones remaining so you can kill them easily if they are on their own.Elf:Like the Fairies,Elves are good at turning back time and aren't afraid to use this ability to their advantage. If you kill an Elf,which no human or animal has done, you will be gifted with an Elf's Immortality and his ability to turn back time.Troll:A fierce creature,Trolls are the worst at disguising themselves, they are hard to take down with a gun but easy to take down with a sword. There have been more Troll sightings in this hotel more than anywhere else so always be on your guard. And that was when the Troll burst through the wall.
Everybody screamed. Jim shoved Scott out of the way and grabbed a sword from a rack. Scott grabbed a sword. Jack and Art did as well."Run!" Scott shouted to Ann. She stayed. Ignoring this, the four friends jumped onto the Troll while it was eating people. Then Scott noticed what looked like a Goblin squad come in and go for Ann. Thinking here goes nothing, he jumped to the ground and attacked the Goblin squad. Suddenly, what the book said about Goblins came true. They started fighting among themselves until only three were left standing. One was eaten by the Troll, another was decapitated and the last looked down at his fallen comrades then he was also eaten by the Troll. Scott looked around and saw some Elves carrying Ann away. He threw the sword at the lead Elf. It hit his back. The Elf lost his grip and dropped Ann to the floor. He swore and he and his comrades ran. She used this chance to run away. Satisfied with these events, Scott turned around and headed towards the Troll. By now, most of the hotel guests were dead or unconcious and only Jack, Art, Ann and Scott were still standing. Scott jumped onto the Troll along with Art. They were stabbing constantly. Eventually Scott got to the neck and started hacking at it. He took one large swing, and the head came off.
