The Texas-based free-lance journalist alleges that Bush was arrested for cocaine possession in 1972, but that his daddy got a friendly state judge to expunge the record in exchange for W.'s performing community service in a Houston mentoring program called PULL. The author writes that he discovered this scandal only after his book was in galleys, which is why the accusation is tacked on as an afterword.

jerome just seems too stupid to reaslise what i've been saying...

this one isn't a question of faith...

i may not have literally voted "NO" but if the poll maker made a simple YES/NO poll i would have, my vote in essense was a NO vote...

this is a stupid conversation anyway...
and it's your fault for locking the voting when you thought you may hav been winning but in fact weren't yet...

you probbly would be winning if you hadn't tried to cheat

Here's a little of what he had to say on that subject, starting with an answer to a question about whether he felt a personal responsibility for not stopping terrorist attacks.

Uh, I grieve for, you know, the incredible loss of life that they feel, the emptiness they feel.

Do you believe the American people deserve a similar apology from you and would you be prepared to give them one?

I feel the same way, I mean, I'm sick when I think about the death that took place on that day.

Here's what I feel about that, the person responsible for the attacks was Osama bin Laden.

That's who's responsible for killing Americans and that's why we will stay on the offence until we bring people to justice.

WASHINGTON PRESS CORPS REPORTER 2: You've looked back before 9/11 for what mistakes might have been made. After 9/11, what would your biggest mistake be, would you say, and what lessons have you learned from it?

Uh, (extended pause). John, I'm sure historians will look back and say, "Gosh, he could've done it better this way or that way, uh". You know, I hope I, I, I don't want to sound like I made no mistakes, I'm confident I have.

I just haven't, you just put me under the spot here and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one.

I think all of his answers were fantastic, accept the last, but do you know anyone who could answer a question like that, when a million Democrats (mad because Gore lost) are waiting to hear their opinion of what the asnwer should be, because of course people will have more than one answer, and if you don't answer what they want, they'll criticize you in some cheap newspaper or on T.V.
