How city girl met island guy
No article could top off how A. met Sam.
So, we arranged to meet at the Flinders' Street Station, which looks like this.
I was early. The trains aren't too reliable these days. I have a cold. I had to strategically leave the house and my paranoid family, but I make it.
So we met up. Introductions and a handshake, and then we set off, conversation about the city of Melbourne and the forum.
"There's a bookshop not too far from here." I say.
"Is it decent?" Sam says, and a little conversation about decent bookshops follow.
So we get there, and begin to have a good look around. We have a look at the Snickets, of course, and the paperback version illustations. We eventually go around the pretty big shop, recommending books, chatting more about the forum and members and a bit about A Series of Quiglet Events.
I eventually get out my camera and suggest a picture. I fail twice to get us both in the shot (because I'm too short) so he takes it.
A funny encounter with a Miffy plush. I don't know why it's there, but I pick it up and we just laugh.
Here is a picture of one resembling it.
Eventually, I pay for my book and we leave. Since I have no money left, I suggest I maybe go home.
We go back to the station and part. My final few words are still echoing in my head:
We're not great friends yet. But maybe someday we can be.

tim here to talk about my most happiest thing this week because no it is not cowboys no way hosay because i asked my dad what are those pointy things on he boots and he told me they are spurs for poking into the horses to make them go fast and that is so mean i got so mad that a cowboy would do that maybe they are not heros but zeros. but who really is a hero is the star of my favorite show on tv that is hannah montana of course! you might say tim what the devil that is a show for girls but no you silly there are boys in it too. my favorite in the show is hannah i think that she is funny and a good singer even though she talks like a silly hobo sometims. one thing that i think is really weird is that the kids in hannahs school are pretty dumb that they do not realise that miley is hannah because they have different hair. but they look just the same only miley does not have a wig. on halloween when i had a wig for my clown costume all the kids did not think i was a clown they knew it was me tim so i think hannah is lucky she goes to a school where the people are dumb and fall for her silly games. my mom is not like when i watch hannah montana to much she says tim this is girly rubbish but better this than blood and guns. i have the hannah montana cd and i know all of her songs my favorite is i got nerve even though my mom says it is just a bunch of sass. well thats all for next week remember nobodys perfect i got to work it and lifes what you make it so lets make it rock lets make it rock!

Movie: Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn
Trailer / IMDB / Rotten Tomatos: 98 %
Most of you will have heard of the Evil Dead series – even if you don’t know it. Guy called Ash who wields a chainsaw and a shotgun against zombies? Sam Raimi (guy who did the Spiderman Movies) directed it? Or maybe you’ve seen a gif of the famous scene where the mounted moose head starts cackling insanely? Bruce Campbell? No?
If not, shame on you. Really some stellar stuff. The film is horror/comedy and is truly an extremely well made film – despite, or perhaps because of its over-the-top gore and cheap – but awesome special effects.
It’s also a unique film in that it remakes the first movie in the first five minutes. Like, it doesn’t show a recap using the old footage – they actually re-shot key scenes of Evil Dead and compressed it into about five minutes. It was…interesting.
Basically, Ash (Bruce Campbell!) arrives at a lodge in the middle of the forest with some college friends. They play a audio recording – which, unfortunately, stems from an ancient book of evil called the Necronomicon – which subsequently unleashes a bunch of vengeful and evil spirits upon the hapless students.
They all die or are possessed, and Ash has to fight the reanimated corpses of his friends in order to survive – including chainsawing the potato out of his girlfriend (or should I say, former girlfriend?). The first movie ends with an evil spirit rushing into the house and surprising Ash.
That’s where the second film kicks in. Ash is bodily thrown a few hundred metres through the forest, turns into a zombie, the sun comes up, he reverts back into his normal self, and then he passes out.
He wakes up, and its nighttime again. There’s fog everywhere, and evil spirits are about. He heads back to the house and shacks up there, fighting off the evil spirits for a while before 4 more strangers arrive at the house, and the whole spiel gets played over again.
It’s a good movie. It’s funny, it’s WacKY, it’s over the top, and it’s surprisingly ingenious in its cinematography. The evil spirit, for instance, that pursues Ash, is only seen from the first person perspective – that is to say, you only ever see through the eyes of the monster as it races through the forest, knocking down walls and doors and anything in its way in order to get at Ash.
In one scene, Ash’s hand gets bitten by a zombie (or Deadite, as they are called); his hand subsequently gets a mind of its own and starts to smash plates over his head. His own hand knocks him out, then spots a butcher knife lying a few metres away, and proceeds to drag his body closer to the knife in a highly iconic scene. One of my favorite scenes is when Ash is alone in the hut, and the mounted moose head starts to cackle insanely at him. It is quickly joined by a lamp, the curtains, the bookshelf, and pretty much the entire room. Ash then joins in, and the entire hut rings with insane laughter; then someone knocks at the door, and everything goes quiet. Awesome. So awesome, in fact, that I’m linking you to the youtube clip of it.
Also, he loses his hand and replaces it with a chainsaw. Epic.
This movie is hard to explain. It’s crazy, it’s funny, it’s got extremely good directing and cinematography – which you don’t expect to see in such a low-budget comedy horror movie. You really have to watch this movie.

ASOQE #203: "Everything" by Lifehouse. I found a video for the very same song that makes a great impact as well.
* * *
Violet clutched her dressing gown.
She had lost control of her life.
Find me here
And speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
Quigley wasn't speaking to her. Klaus and Sunny were on a trip.
And to top it off, her period had come too early and she'd caught a bug, just days before a very important meeting.
You are the light
That's leading me to the place
Where I find peace again
Tying her hair in a ponytail, she went into a coughing fit.
She thought nothing of it, until the bile rose to her throat and a wave of nausea swept through her body.
You are the strength
That keeps me walking
You are the hope
That keeps me trusting
You are the light to my soul
Her eyes widened. She hadn't been expecting this.
She ran for the bathroom, diving to the toilet.
You are my purpose
You're everything
She made it, hurling her mouthful into the bowl.
She'd skipped lunch and dinner, so it was purely bile that splashed into the bowl.
And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this?
Shuddering, whimpering, she finished and wiped her mouth with some loo roll.
The toilet bowl seemed her only friend.
You calm the storms
And you give me rest
You hold me in your hands
You won't let me fall
"Someone help me?" she whispered to no one in particular, before losing consciousness.
You still my heart
When you take my breath away
Would you take me in take me deeper now
And Quigley burst in, worried.
Even if Violet was mad at him, she still would have answered the door.
And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this?
He found her slumped against the toilet, apparently not breathing.
Cause you're all I want
You're all I need
You're everything, everything
He hurriedly checked her neck. No pulse.
Tears fell down his own face, as he reached for his mobile phone.

The 667er's Caption Contest
Last week's image:
Rollover! If you can think of a caption to fit this latest picture, send it to Sixteen (volunteer16) by next Saturday and it may be featured in next week's edition of The 667er! Good luck.

Editorial:
I'm tired and have a headache and it was brought to my attention that the 667er hasn't been posted and that I had access to this account in case of just such and event and would I please just post the potato ing edition?
So here it is. I'm tired and have a headache so it's probably not very aesthetically ordered. Also, I think it's missing a couple of articles, but that's only because people haven't been sending their articles to this separate account like they should be.
Hoped you like this edition.
