I don't think it's weird. I think it's dull.

It's cool~ except the books are kinda blunt. The movies are awesome.

I was forced to read the Hobbit in seventh grade--I thought it wasn't well written. But I don't really have an opinion on LoTR, I don't really know anything about it.

Oh, yeah, I love the Hobbit. The LotR Fellowship of the ring is what is sorta dull.

But I respect your opinion.

It is dull and while the Hobbit has an OK story, the writing wasn't good. I've only fallen asleep twice during a movie: Fellowship of the Ring (BOOOORING!!!) and PotC1 (I didn't like it when it first came out, I LOVE it now.)

I don't hate Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit, I actually think that they are well-written and interesting. I can see how some people find the first part of Fellowship dull; it lacks action and is very descriptive, but overall I quite like the stories.

I quite like The Hobbit, but I couldn't force myself through The Fellowship of the Ring. It was inexplicably dull. So I never finished it, nor the trilogy.

I like the Hobbit's story. It's rather interesting, but J.R. lost his touch....
I have a neighbor who is obsessed with LotR. He was the one that made watch the 1st movie.

I would say I'm borderline obsessed. Sure the beginning was dull but when you get into it, it becomes very interesting. Soon I had to know every detail of the lotr universe. Once I read the silmarillion I found I could understand the series a lot better.

Most people hate LoTR because of the complicated (as some people would say) language. In my opinion LoTR is one of the most intresting books. The Hobbit was really good and i know that the starting of LoTR is quite boring and dull. As Jacques said though, it gets very intresting.

Yeah they do get interesting. Think about it, if you haven't read the books but like the movies, the books are the same thing only with MORE detail and more stuff. Give the books a chance. It also helps you understand some of that type of language so when you start reading shakespeare you'll at least know SOME of the words/style. At least that's what happened with me.
