i'm not pressed by this at all, i think everyone's reactions are kind of funny but i also think the people who are super super upset about it need to get over it a little bc it's really not that big of a deal

i really like parts of the books but really really hate when she talks and the romance parts of harry potter are some of my least fave parts. i do like hermione and ron though.
this is from because i dont feel that strongly about this but still:
I am outraged by the implication that Ron Weasley is somehow not good enough for perfect, wonderful Hermione Granger, like LET’S JUST IMAGINE WHAT MOLLY WEASLEY WOULD HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT AND LEAVE IT THERE.
NO SORRY ACTUALLY, SORRY, I CAn’t just leave it there, like isn’t it SORT OF A BIG POINT that everyone is like “ugh, RON, really?” and Hermione is like, “YUP,” and everyone is like, “ugh, HER, REALLY?” and Ron is like “YEAH, HER,” and there is almost no one else who doesn’t think Ron is a stubborn dumbass and that Hermione is an uptight pain-in-the ass know-it-all, and it’s not just that they accept each other, but that they actively love each other’s insufferable qualities and they fight and they potato and they both love Harry Potter the most of almost anyone else in the entire world, I CAN’T STAND THIS, I AM MAD.

I am glad I am a Snicket fan. Nobody ever thought Klaus/Isadora was the whole point of the series. The world is quiet here.

Kinda sad, because Hermione did all those puzzles in the first book, brewed polyjuice potion when she was like 12, fought off dementors, fought death eaters, fought in throughout the war in numerous battles, helped destroy the horcruxes and was the brightest witch in her year....and all we're celebrating years later is who eventually got in her pants.

Well, yes. Fandom constantly overstates the importance of romance.
I actually think that if Hermione had got together with Harry, that would have been disastrous, because it would have put romance centre-stage, and undermined the value of friendship, which the books were meant to be about. But whether she gets together with Ron, or with someone else, or with no one - meh.
Snicket does it right - by having everyone's potential love interests swallowed by the Great Unknown, he takes the question who ends up with whom off the table.

This poses a great opportunity for Rowling to create a sequel showing a realistic account of the deteriorating marriage of Hermione and Ron, á la Ingmar Bergman's 'Scenes from a Marriage.' Fans would be delighted.
