I like where i live, but mostly because it doesnt take much time to get anywhere. It doesnt take long to get to town or to the beach or to london or anywhere, its a good location.

I mainly made this thread because it made me realise how superficial my town is and how much I can't wait to leave ^ That was me before I moved out. I like visiting my family because I like my family but I hate the neighborhood I grew up in and always hope I won't see any neighbors whenever I visit. How well do you know the people from your neighborhood? I barely know the people that live in the same apartment building as me, let alone my whole neighborhood. I don't think I'd be able to classify its main demographic either, just seems pretty diverse.

I don't know the people that well, but I know their names and I say hello to them. The neighbour I know best is probably the cat that lives on the other side of the road and sometimes comes in through my window and visits me.
Also my next door neighbours have a key for our house so if one of us comes home and nobody is there and they have no key they can get that one instead. Is that normal anywhere else?

I forgot to say literally everybody who lives around me is white.
Like it may not seem important, but the fact that my whole town has like no ethnic diversity at all drives me legit crazy.
I am the least white in my friend group. ME! I'm practically a freaking lily. What the hell.

I only moved into my current neighborhood a few months ago, so I know virtually no one. However, I had spent the first 15 years of my life in the previous neighborhood, so I knew almost every house on the street, and I was very good friends with my next-door neighbors, who were both my age. *deep, depressing sigh* Also my next door neighbours have a key for our house so if one of us comes home and nobody is there and they have no key they can get that one instead. Is that normal anywhere else? My neighbors also have a key to our house, but that's because they feed our cats when we're gone.

I know literally everyone. It's the kind of place that someone would stare at you suspiciously if they hadn't seen you before or didn't recognise you. My city is also pretty small- you can guarantee that wherever you go out or get on a bus you'll always find someone you know to chat to, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation.
As for ethnic diversity, we're actually a pretty diverse school/neighbourhood. We have people all over the world due to the oil industry.

Mines really pretentious and full of pretentious rich kids and tbh i am one probably of those kids Think leafy green suburbs with huge houses and gleaming porshes/audis/ferraris on the driveways with four letter registration plates and a bunch of spoilt brats in twerpy green school uniform and thats a pretty accurate picture What's yours like? The neighbourhood I live in now is weird Mostly feels very safe, lots of families, but sometimes weird stuff happens or police cars hang around and I feel unsafe People can't pick up after their dogs There are about 5 parks in my local area which is nice, and loads of supermarkets Some people are very well off, other's are quite poor It's a really mixed bag Looks of hipster coffee shops not far though
