YES. As long as they don't overuse it that could be awfully entertaining.

Oh, I just remembered something I forgot to mention yesterday. The music sounded a little fairytale-y for my tastes, but I guess the show needs to have fairytale elements in order to subvert them. I also felt that much of the music felt a little too "magical," the sort of thing I'd expect from a show about discovering some wonderful fairytale world. It felt rather at odds with the spoken dialogue, and not in a particularly subversive way. It's funny you should say that, because ASOUE actually has a LOT to do with fairy tales! I know Snicket mocks them quite often, but it's clear it's just a joke. The entire narrative is pretty close to the narratives we have in fairy tales (orphaned children getting abandoned to a cruel "step family", cleverness and intelligence being their own salvation, for example). Of course, I mean the "original" fairy tales, not the Disney-fied ones, which are the ones you probably meant However, I felt the music more like the music they used for the trailer of the movie, which conveys disaster and chaos. I think it's more a strategy to attract younger audiences. Hopefully, we'll get a full trailer during November-December.

Am I the only one that loves the music and thinks it fits perfectly?

You pinpointed precisely why I DON'T have problems with the music.

Am I the only one that loves the music and thinks it fits perfectly? Nope! I thought it was perfect!

Am I the only one that loves the music and thinks it fits perfectly? No. You are not. (and you're the first Hamilton fan I came across on here, so you've only strengthened my opinion *cheeky smile*)

Concept art. The more I see of the designs from this show the more I love it. I know someone else already started a topic for that hidden website, but I figured I'd post it here since this is the mega post.

I do kind of wish Netflix would put out a full-fledged ARG to promote the show. They're fun and they're definitely in the spirit of ASoUE.

This website only shows for "Episodes 1 and 2". Does that mean there could be other websites for the other episodes?? I long to see how they'll manage Aunt Josephine's home and lake Lachrymose. So far the thelittlestelf.com and countolaf.com haven't worked

Anyways, Count Olaf's mansion's design is pretty awesome. It looks actually very creepy. Much darker than the design we had for the 2004 movie.

it looks basically the same as the movie to me. it's still a delapidated mansion.

That part of the house certainly reminds me of the movie house too. I like the Netflix version though, it reflects how abandoned the house is, makes it look more real. Also, even when the excess of eyes is part of the book's description, I like how "clean" in that aspect this version looks; after all, we know that at least one of the other rooms has enough eyes.

obviously, but it's never described as a mansion, it's just a house with a tower. even helquist's illustrations don't make it that big.
