Woops, I usually do that (mentally translating something from Spanish to English and not thinking of it).
In Spanish we use this kind of construction to talk about someone/something we had but still have. Ily M, even when I don't deliver my 667er stuff <3

Mr. Dent, I have to compliment you. You seem very well-informed on Snickety matters, and have generally well-founded opinions (at least, I get that impression, but that might just be because we've agreed so far). And that's all very well, but also - and this is the actual compliment, because anyone can be right - you've done so while still giving a very positive impression, and treated everyone with tact and respect. Well done, and thanks!
Of course, you only have 43 posts so far, so there's loads of time to mess that up. But so far, great job!

I'm glad that Snicket's got such a dedicated and chill fanbase! I've only really been here like a day and a half, but you guys have done nothing but make me feel welcome!

Nice to meet you officially. It seems like you'll be with us for a while, or so I hope, although no doubt Mr. Snicket would say it's unfortunate as your input will no doubt fuel our already insatiable interest in talking about ASOUE and the netflix series. But I am not Mr. Snicket, so *waves*. (this forum wasn't my first post either when I joined 15 months ago, by the way)

You know, I kind of just glossed over introducing myself and jumped right into discussing the Netflix series, but I've been asked to post here, and so I will. Hello, fellow associates! My name's Mr. Dent, which I think most of you already figured, was in reference to Arthur Dent, protagonist of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Like Arthur, I am in a perpetual state of bewilderment and dismay, which is why I think A Series of Unfortunate Events resonates with me so much. Daniel Handler's work influenced much of my worldview and tastes, perhaps a bit too much, actually. I've actually had an account here before, back when I was an awkward preteen, but that account is long buried by the sands of time, and hopefully it never comes back. I used to dress exclusively in hot topic clothing, back in those days. It was bad. Now I dress like a depressed librarian, but at least that's not tacky. I consider myself something of a amateur writer. I'm too novice and unrefined to be called an author, but I think ink-slinger suits me fine. I also like old movies! Like, old movies- I'm a big fan of Buster Keaton. Oh, and Night of the Hunter has been my favorite film for a long time. If you haven't heard of it, you should check it out! It's about an evil but charismatic preacher, who chases after two orphaned siblings in search of the fortune their father hid for them. It, obviously, shares a lot of thematic similarities with Snicket's work! But it's also really sappy, and it's one of the few horror movies you could totally watch on Christmas. I'm looking forward to being more active in the ASOUE fan community! Daniel Handler is my favorite author (yes, I even liked Watch Your Mouth,) and I can't wait to see what's in store for the future! Hopefully the Netflix show brings in a lot of fresh blood. I actually thought it was reference to Harvey Dent a.k.a Two-Face from Batman.

I like Batman too, but my name's a reference to a specific line from H2G2.
