the enduringly terrible posts usually aren't the loud, 'quirky' ones that are blatantly bad. instead, they often have a slow burn of terribleness. look at this thing I HATED the film adaption of Percy Jackson. I thought it lacked the humor of the books, and admitedly thought it could have stayed closer to the book. I'm not usually one of those people who want films to be exactly like the book but this was one case I did (okay not exactly). I don't hate the Harry Potter films (other than the Colmbus films), but they're kinda boring since I've read the books (with three exeptions: Prisoner of Askban/Order of Phoniex/Deathly Hallows). They do have great casts and is clearly the books brought to life. PS. I haven't seen the 8th yet, but looking foward too. Scott Pilgrim: The film dosn't have the depth of the books, so I prefer the books, but I do feel that it was a great adaption. It got the tone right, a great pace, and actors who are the characters embodied. I'll add more if I can think more. I've just read Watchmen and want to see the film. I think I can buy the Ultimate Cut sometime after my birthday, when my Blu-Ray is fixed, and I have enough money (at the earliest, Feburary). |
