sometimes to appreciate flowers you need someone else's artistic representation of a flower. proust and fantin-latour were obsessed with em. check out a painting of several flowers

Looked at lots of Fantin-Latour flower paintings not long ago... I dig the cover of New Order's Power Corruption &Lies which uses his art, so I checked out more. Never thought I'd be into flower paintings (not big on still life) but them some of the best, I reckon.

Lilies are lovely. I also like freesias, roses ofc, and jasmine. Love a good waratah or banksia too.

Only the waratsh/banksia is an aussie native, the rest are introduced species. But yeah, we have dome pretty sick flowers

i am a particular fan of ol narcissus pseudonarcissus myself but i've never met a flower or floral print i didn't like, except maybe privet blooms?? which always look like honeysuckle from afar to me and i get happy bc i think i've found honeysuckle but it's just potato ing privet
