I love them. They look like poorly constructed stage props. 10/10

Discovered Victoria crowned pigeons recently and they combine two of my favourite things: blue and fluffiness.

I decided the one kind of bird I hate is the seagull, especially after having one snatch a Kibbeling out of my hand by the beach. Then in Croatia I felt confirmed in my hate when I heard that seagulls were also known to attack cats. But most of all it's their impudence that riles me. I much prefer pigeons and think seagulls are the more rat-like birds.

Once as a kid I was on the beach eating from a box of saltines and there was a seagull staring at me so I threw it a cracker. But when I did, like 50 other seagulls swooped down and started fighting over it and once they had consumed that single saltine they started chasing me demanding more.

I hope you've learned from your mistake. Never give a seagull anything.

for the last month i got to watch a woodpigeon nest in a tree just outside my window. i saw them bringing sticks to build the nest, then i saw them brooding the eggs, then i saw the two babies grow up. they were quite ugly at first, and they were disturbingly aggressive when feeding. the babies would shove their beaks in the mom's beak and the 3 of them would rock against each other a lot like a bizarre sex act. earlier this week they started to sit on the branches around the nest and stretch their wings, and now they are gone :') pretty cool experience.

just learned about the saga of the famous white brushturkeys in Noosa, Queensland. there were at least two. they lived on Hastings Street, the high street of the town. the first was known as "Albi", though she was not albino (only leukistic). my sources tell me that she was hit by a car in 2019 and recovered in hospital, but was not returned to the wild. however, in 2020 a new baby was seen on the street, thought to be a relative. it's presumably this one that started a family later in the year. he became known as "Mr Albines." here he is pictured with his lady. Mr Albines was run over in 2022. RIP to the absolute legend.
