without further ado, here is the interview with Terrance Bellemere Wellington Craig the Third
(as requested by zortadort)
i. question: now i'm single, do you want to be my sweetheart? - zort
feel like I've been your sweetheart all along
ii. what snicket related item do you own, that you cherish most? - semb
well, probs my Bombinating Beast statue from the ATWQ swag parcel I got some years ago. So no, it's not for sale, Semby. (Unless you want to propose an unreasonably high price, then I'll listen).
iii. what's the most recent play or musical you've seen and what did you think of it? - bryan
hmm, the closest thing to this would be "Saturday Night Fever", the 1977 John Travolta flick, which I recently rewatched. The story comes across as horribly sexist due to the characters, but I guess you could argue it's just a gritty portrayal of how things were back then. The solo-Travolta dance scenes are legendary, and even though I'm not a disco guy, the Bee Gees had me boppin.
iv. how does literature and reading play a role in your life ?
I studied literature at uni and read way to little these days, but also I know what I like (the whole literary tradition exemplified by Kafka, to which Id include the likes of Gogol, Kharms, Vian). And I try to mine that direction of storytelling when looking for things to read. Recently I discovered the fascinating work of Franz Hohler, though Idk if he's been widely translated into English.
v. how did you first discover ASOUE?
I picked up a copy of TVV, back when the series was only out until TCC. I was intrigued by the cover art and for the reverse psychology of the back text. I'd return to the same bookshop every few days, buying another copy of ASoUE until I had read all that have been published so far. "You're reading pretty fast, don't you?" the cashier told me, I remember.
vi. may you please ask your parents WHY you were suspended twice in hs ? the people need to know.
No point, my ma wouldn't remember. I think it was just causing a ruckus in class together with two friends.
(author's note - but TWICE!?)
vii. if you could pick any 667er to get in a boxing match with, who would it be?
Pandora, although I'd probably lose
viii. what would you like to see modified or changed on 667?
Give Tinsly her color theme change! (Unless it's blue)
ix. do you have a new year's resolution?
To get my sh#t together
x. how does it feel to be on the noble side of the banner schism ?
Noble enough
xi. if you are able to say, which french author are you working on a project for?
I think you mean 'auteur', which is the fancy word for "fancy filmmaker" I used in relation to a recent film project I was involved in. Yes, it was Bertrand Mandico, who made such alarmingly bizarre and bizarrely alarming films as "The Wild Boys" and "Boro in the Box".
xii. what is your favourite banner you have made ? your jan 2014 one is my favourite.
Thank you! Is this your question, Twiggy? I'm happy you like that one, bc it's one I wasn't sure about at the time. Hm, tough choice, I really like the Member of the Year 2013 banner I did for Pen, and from MotM I like Feb 2014 for its effective simplicity.
(author's note - yes it was my question because i care and because ily)
xiii. which 667er would you like to be interviewed next?
The one and only 667er I've met so far: Bär.
or if you have any questions for repo!
