I want an electric guitar what type do you want, maybe i can recommend you s/t a nylon-string gtr would be easiest to learn barre chords on. barre chords on steel-string with 12-gauge strings is pretty tough, even for me, for more than, say, 2 songs. a 9-gauge set of strings (9 being the thinnest string) is easy too, but only makes sense on an electric. I have 10's on electric and 12's on acoustic gtr. also, capos are your friend on acoustic.

my ideal choice would be a strat, but i don't have the resources to get an electric guitar any time soon. i love me a capo'd sound. but without barre chords i am unable to play some very common chords, for example Bb or F#

no, can't do without, I'm afraid. strat is a classic. i really yearn for a guitar w/humbuckers but that's bc i already have a single-coil (not a strat, but I'm happy w/my Danelectro).

Why aren't you referring to Roxy as Ms. Roxy?

I love the attention to detail here! Also, you can call me whatever you want, as long as it’s not a direct insult.
