I have eaten several raw carrots while staying with my parents. They have access to better carrots where they live, which are not the size of my forearm and therefore more suitable for eating raw than the ones we get here. However, it is not the best time of year for carrots, so I think I will give an average rating of 7.5/13 I forgot to take a picture but I think most people know what a carrot looks like.
An experimental coconut cream cake is in progress.

Apologies for abandoning this project for longer than intended; I was away in India for two weeks, and got food poisoning from the truly terrible food served on the plane home, so I'm not really feeling up to making any interesting meals just at the moment. However, I will try to get the March/TMM food list completed and uploaded soon so that if anyone wants to move on to that, they can get started. Before I went away I did tick a few more items off the list, though, so I'll share them now. Cold Lime Stew Eagle-eyed viewers will note that this looks slmost identical to my cucumber soup. It was indeed almost identical, but I added the juice of two limes, some chopped coriander, and a finely diced gherkin/pickle. And it was delicious! I will definitely be making it again. Rating: 13/13 A banana This was a very nice banana, not to hard, not too soft. Rating: 10/13 Crackers, to attempt whistling with These are the crackers I chose, because they were about the only ones without palm oil I could find. They're fine, nothing super exciting hut perfectly palatable. I did attempt to whistle; it was very hard, and I only managed to make a short note after chewing them a bit. Definitely not up to whistling any actual melodies. I took a video, which I shall try to upload shortly. Rating: 6.5/13 I also made a coconut cake, but it was truly dreadful. I got my friend to try it because I don't like coconut and he confirmed that it was not good lol. But I am annoyed at how bad it was so I'm going to have a second go, and then post both attempts.

Here, hopefully, is my attempt at cracker whistling:
Idk why the video glitches but I can’t be bothered to edit it now.

Last weekend I made a coconut cream cake I used my top secret universal chocolate cake recipe and a German buttercream (butter + pudding), using white chocolate and replacing some ingredients by coconut ones. There is creamed coconut, coconut milk and desiccated coconut in both the cake and the cream, so definitely for people who like coconut. I am one of these people. 14/13 because CAKE On Tuesday I made Mushroom Stroganoff. I used the same recipe Violent BUN Fortuna has linked in this post, and also used extra garlic and cooked the rice myself. The sauce was a bit more liquid than I expected, I would have liked it a bit more creamy, but the flavour was really nice. 12/13

That coconut cake looks so good that I can't possibly post my terrible attempt until I've had a second go. I haven't made any more meals, but here is the (very late) meal list for March/The Miserable Mill. Due to holidays and being horribly sick for a week and a half I am very very behind but I have faith that I will eventually catch up. TMM's list is quite long, but lots of the items are fairly small. I'm going shopping tomorrow so will hopefully be able to get some ingredients then.

Much faster than I had hoped, I found a vegan alternative to beef jerky: mushroom jerky! I got this for £1 at Holland and Barrett. This was actually really nice, despite not looking particularly appetising (but then neither does beef jerky imo). It's very chewy, and has a strong barbecue-mushroom flavour. I really enjoyed this. Rating: 10/13 Tonight I hope to make blueberry pancakes.

Blueberry pancakes! I was really happy with these. I made them with frozen blueberries because I didn’t want to waste fresh ones in case they weren’t good, but they were soooo good. They were fluffy and tasty. I had them with icing sugar and fresh lemon juice. Rating: 12/13 (I like crepe style pancakes best so these don't quite get 13, but they were really nice)

Muffins and freshly squeezed orange juice I made blueberry muffins with lemon buttercream. They are delicious and I am considering eating my third already. I only squeezed one orange for my juice because I had just had some not-freshly squeezed orange juice so I didn't feel like a whole glass. Anoway, this was delicious. This is the recipe I used, in case anyone else wants to try it: www.culinaryhill.com/blueberry-muffins/I used self-raising flour instead of using plain flour and adding baking powder. And I didn’t add salt, because I never do. Oh, and I decided to also make just a little lemon buttercream. The muffins have a lovely crunchy top and pair very well with the orange juice. Altogether delicious. Rating:13/13

A lot of exciting things on this list!
I have pictures to post for all the rest of the Reptile Room food which we ate last weekend, I will have to remember to do that when I have both time and WiFi.
Yesterday we went to a place that included an old fashioned sweet shop, so I was hoping we could get some old fashioned peppermints there, but they didn't have any, so we will have to get boring normal ones instead.

For my birthday this past week, my mom made me a coconut cream cake. I think this was the third one I've had in my lifetime, and it was by far the best. Sometimes cakes like this can be dry, but this wasn't at all! It was exquisite.

I am finally posting all these things! Toast I took this picture before putting strawberry jam on it. It was homemade wholemeal bread, and I had the choice between "not really toasted, just warm and a bit dried out" and "actually toasted but with burnt edges", so I went for the second option. 10/13, I like toast. Popcorn Just plain popcorn, popped with a bit of coconut oil and salt. We often have this when watching a film because it's so easy to make and tastes amazing. 13/13 Coffee and tinned peaches When we were in Germany recently, we went into a shop with lots of random handmade and fairtrade stuff. They also had a coffee roasting machine in the middle of the shop, and we waited for a bit to watch them get the roasted beans out. I liked the smell and the sound of it. I bought a pack of ground coffee to take home, and this is the first cup I made from it, using a French press. I added a bit of oat milk because in my opinion most things are better with oat milk. The taste of the tinned peaches was a little bit weaker than I expected, probably because it's been over 20 years since I last had a tinned peach just on its own and they probably used to put more sugar in the liquid than they are allowed now. It was okay, but now that I'm an adult I prefer to combine them with other food, for example I had one with yoghurt and granola the next day and that was really nice. 12/13 for the coffee and 9/13 for the tinned peaches, 11/13 for the combination. Peppermints I put them in an old jam jar and threw the packaging away and didn't take a picture of it. They are hard on the outside and crumbly in the middle. I actually like peppermints, but they make me a bit anxious because anything you can't eat anything for quite a while after or it will taste weird, and I'm scared of the commitment to not eating anything for a while. What if someone offers me free chocolate? 8/13 I have also bought crackers and eaten a few of them, but not taken a picture of them or tried to whistle.
