Yeah. They say that they use anagrams in the books. You don't have to be much of a detective to figure that out.

In THH wasn't there a page of anagrams? And didn't one turn out to be Beatrice Baudelaire?

Yes, there was one that said "Beatrice Baudelaire". But I still think that it means she's the Baud's aunt.

I had to make up names for the powder faced women for a fanfic and I named the Victoria and Angelique. Don't know why, but it sounded right.

people have mentioned gorgon and quisling ( the two strange names in the extra chapter of TBBRE, that were used to describe count olaf) could be new characters introduced, or could be the names of someone we already know. maybe the hook handed man is named gorgon or the bald man with the long nose is called quisling or something.

It was words to describe evil people, not jsut olaf. I think that we dont know the henchmpeoples names for the same reason he wont tell us the names of the man with a beard but no hair, and the woman with hair but no beard. Hes afraid to. Those names are too frightening to utter for Lemony. as for quisling and Gorgon, I still expect those will be future new characters. and all of the henchpeople are gone/dead (except for teh hook handed man, of course). Heres how:
The large one who looks like neither a man nor a woman: Died in the Heimlich Hospital fire.
The bald man with the long nose: Got savagely torn apart and eaten by hungry lions, along with Madam Lulu.
The two white faced women: Walked away from the scene and didnt fallow Count Olaf's order to throw Sunny off of the frozen waterfall.
The hook-handed man: At this point, i beleive he is in a giant net being carried away by many eagles, if I remember correctly.
