When I got to school this morning, I had a very unpleasant surprise waiting on my desk. I received an Event Kit from Harper-Collins.
It contains:
25 black pencils that say "I SURVIVED LEMONY SNICKET" in white on them 25 TBL bookmarks 25 iron-on transfers that say "THE END IS HERE" over the LS monogram logo 25 sheets of stickers that look like the LS monogram logo pressed into red sealing wax 25 copies of LS to BB #2 letter from TBL. Words have been removed to make it like a Mad Lib 20 punch-out masks, 5 each of Violet, Klaus, Sunny and Olaf An Event Kit booklet with reproduceable pages A CD sampler of the TBB multi-voice audiobook.
This appears to be the same kit that is sent to bookstores, since B&N mentions having the same things to give out. I'll try to get some scans done soon and post them here.

Are you a teacher or a librarian? How did you get this event kit?

Aaaamazing! I am so jealous! Can't wait for that Alverno thing! The masks are what really sounds cool. Those kids are going to have an unpleasant Halloween! At least, I'd use those masks for my costume...but I'm stuck with a dumb kabuki outfit that matches my friend's...it was for a drama project about the 'history of theatre'...We're too old to trick-or-treat...but we don't care. 15 isn't so bad, right? We're cool like that. ;D

How many are in the class you teach? How are you going to share them out?

How many are in the class you teach? How are you going to share them out? I actually teach in the computer lab and see all the students from K4 to 8th Grade, around 100 kids in all. I do Unfortunate Day for the 1st through 8th graders. That's only about 65 kids, so I do need to figure out how to share everything around. I did play around with photocopying the masks and that will work well, as will the TBL letters. I'll have enough stickers, so I'll probably use the bookmarks, pencils, and iron-ons for prizes. I had a really busy weekend, so I'll try to get some scans up later this week.

I've scanned the masks. I made them full size and pasted them into Word documents. I haven't uploaded them for file sharing yet. Please be patient.
You should still be able to see the punch-out lines to cut on. The punch-out for the eyes may be harder to see. The way they are marked is you only punch out the white part of the eye and leave the pupil part. I suppose this makes them more real looking, but cut them however you like.
Enjoy!

My school library seems to have got some kind of package, but from Egmont. They had a TE poster on the door, and more inside. I managed to get a poster, which is now on my bedroom wall yay.

Totally. When I was in 5th grade, my gifted talented teacher, Mrs. Pratt read TBB to us. It took like 6 months for her to finish it, but I remembered being hooked instantly. Back then, it was really popular to check them out from the school library. I recall going every Friday to see if I could check one out. It was a bit of a tradition for a while...I think that's why I love the books so much--reminds me of that amazing year....ahhh...being a sophmore is so...different...

If you have scanned the masks, could you also scan the letter from TBL? I've scanned the letter madlib. You can find it here.
