Yes, I make the assumption that they are the most important characters in the books becides the Baudelaires and possibly the Snickets. You mention the Widdershins, but they appeared for one book, and you mentioned a few others that don't have a nearly as long a run in the series as the Quagmires.

I personally don't care weather there is or is not a romance between the character, but when you imply one as strongly as Handler did, and then swallow them up so he doesn't have to do anything with them, as I said before, I was irate.

To be honest, I really can't believe people here actually didn't care about seeing the Quagmires...

i heard that DH was going to maybe write more books but about other people. whether it is about the quagmires or a totally differnt story i dont know. i dont even know if this would be true or not.

OK, I sympathize with those of you who want closure on the Quags. Really, I do.

On the other hand, what if DH gave them an ending that completely stomped all your dreams into the dirt? Isn't it better to be able to imagine your own ending for them, whether it be fair or foul?

I liked the Quagmires but didn't think they weren't really necessary to The End. The only ongoing plot to do with them was Quigley and Duncan both having a thing for Violet and I think bringing them back would have meant the romance element would have taken up too much of the book (see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince).

I agree with Jacob4000 I wanted closure.
I don't care about the soppy teen romance, in fact I didn't want that to get in the way. I just wanted a reunion. The Baudelaires shouted in tvv that they promised to catch up with the Quagmires. With virtuous people such as the bauds I expected them to deliver. but they didn't. Handler even mentioned citations of bravery up in the air so I was lead to believe the baudelaires would indeed find their way into the sshamh and battle eagles. But they didn't. They were on the roof of the hotel if that counts as high up in the air, which it doesn't. Then they were in a flying boat for about 2 seconds. um...
And the Quagmires ARE important. If they weren't, then why were 3 books dedicated almost solely to them? 4 if you count tss. Why did they consume the baudelaires' thoughts in every book after taa? They were central to the bauds' story and as such they should've been paid more attention to. I understand your opinions about "it isn't our business to know" completely, but it does get aggravating when you're strung along believing "Oh yeah, these guys'll come back" And then you wait over 2 years and they don't.
