I noticed that somewhere at the beginning, when Harry and Hermione meet in Diagon Alley, Hermione sees Harry's broken glasses and uses a spell to fix them. I thought students weren't allowed to use magic in the school holidays?

Yeah, Diagon Alley is in the Magical World, so they can use spells there.

Oh, weird, I didn't know that. Good observation though.

There was NO fight between Malfoy, sr. and Weasly, sr., and a bunch of other things. They (whoever THEY are) change so many things. I don't know if I'll be able to enjoy movies that they CHANGE.

I thought thAT BEFORE students go to Hogwarts, they can do spells because Hermione was like "i practiced a few simple spells myself, and they've all worked for me" and then Ron tried to turn Scabbers yellow. In the POA movie, harry was practicing an "advance lumos spell" or something, if it was so "advance' then why didn't he get a warning from the MOM?

i think this was a mistake, cauze even though theyre in a magical place, theyre still underage. Like Fred and George hadnt been aloud to use magic outside of school until OOTP. I think JKR has got us all confuzzled.

I had been under the impression that underage magic was only forbidden in the muggle world (save for certain types of magic, such as apparating , which, like driving, requires people to be a certain age).

I noticed this the first time I saw it, and I've still been thinking about it...
I agree with sunnygal...

They didn't show Nick's deathday party, in it, either. ):

Harry's using his wand at the begining of the movie to read then later Vernon says he's not supposed to use magic at home.
I was sad they had John Cleese as Nearly Headless Nick and didn't even have a deathday party.
