This came to me last night whilst reading PS/SS in bed;
Well, I think it was when Harry had heard some news about the Stone, but when he went to wake up Ron, Ron was mumbling about Quidditch fouls as Harry woke him up.
Now, in QTTA, on page ... *goes upstairs* ... 26 ... well, it says, right at the bottom of the news article:
One freckled-faced six-year old left the hall in tears. "I love Stooging" he sobbed to the Daily Prophet. "Me and me dad like watching them Keppers flattened. I don't want to go to Quidditch no more."
So, is the young boy Ron? Bare in mind this atricle was dated 22 June 1884! Discuss...

Does anyone have handy when Nearly Headless Nick's deathday is? Because you can do the math from that to find out what year the books take place.

the series takes place in the 90's. I believe 1991 was the year harry started at Hogwarts.

...more than one person can have freckles, derr. This theory is, no offense, idiotic and not even much of a theory.

Almost all wizards talk about quidditch fouls. And just because a 6 year old in 1884 complained about stooging doesn't mean Ron is more than a century old... JKR probably put it in there as a funny coincidence.

Well, other than the fact that I seriously doubt Ron is over a century old, it would be a good theory.

Yup, it would've been a nice theory if it weren't for that century. <snaps fingers in disappointment>

Perhaps it's an ancestor of Ron's...

Perhaps... But JKR probably won't tell us if it is. She probably hasn't even thought of it herself... Or maybe she has...

The one about it being an ancestor, and I'm not sure if I was talking to you or not.... I'm losing my train of thought

ah ok . It doesn't HAVE to be an ancestor. Not all red haired people with freckles are related. But it could be an ancestor.
